I don't think it necessarily needs to write in the registry. I'm no professional but I think that the only reason it writes in there is for installation purposes (to uninstall from the control panel). It might store some extra data but I don't think it's anything vital.

If this is true, you could just try hitting the ignore. It shouldn't screw up SCAR (too much :D).

Windows is disabling you from modifying the registry because your account doesn't have sufficient privileges to do that. The registry is a vital role in the Windows Operating system, so it requires administration priviledges to modify it in any aspect, including to View it.

Actually, it contains your subversion repository information, version, scripts path, scar path, include path, extension information (for .SCAR), etc.

Not quite… It writes to the registry only for file association, and to store SCAR's path and version for external support applications to find it. Any additional information stored in the registry is stored by SCAR itself… and the include path or any subversion related info is never stored to the registry…

So it wouldn't hurt to hit that ignore button, then? You would have to manually associate the filetype then, but it would otherwise be fine?

The installer doesn't make any registry changes that are vital to SCAR's workings…

Hmm, i must've looked up the wrong registry information then when i was searching for the registry information SCAR was storing ;)

I see why it doesn't work. That specific registry entry is still there from when I uninstalled. The problem now is its deny ALL attempts to access/delete it. Yes I have admin privilages and such.
