_PathMaker_

Simple tool which helps you with making a path for a reflection script.

open PathMaker, load the included image and start clicking ! :p

At the end, press Export Path and voila, you've got yourself a path.

The yellow lines are lines that are out of the range of the MM, green is within range.

Update !

Added things :

  • Ability to save and load a .tile file.
  • Visible circle on the picture of the size of the minimap
  • Centering the screen to the click
  • Remove tiles
  • Shorter export style
  • Made it look sweeeeet!

Update 2!

Added things :

  • HotKeys
  • Fixed Saving to .tile file
  • Sweetened code

Update 3!

Added things :

  • New RS BMP
  • Small safety fixes

Update 4!

Added things :

  • New RS Image, thanks to Shuttleu!
  • Now included in Reflection/Tools/PathMaker.exe

And I included the source for you learn horny geeks out there.

Kthx dude:)

Edit:
Hey, you could add something like that about printing path..if it doesn't hurt..

Result := [ Point(123,321), Point(123,321), Point(123,321)];

you should add a reset button that will remove all the points.

If you mean printing it in general, there is an Export Path function. If you mean printing it like that.. are you sure you want it like that ? It's harder to edit..

Will do so in v1.1

Sumilion, I have a question.

If you make a path a yellow line(out of the minimap) will it create extra paths to get to that destination? Hard to explain, if you dont get it, forget it.

Of course not. If you try to walk it all you'll receive is an error about the tile being off the minimap. Just make another tile that's closer if one's off the map and go from there.

Maybe add both options? One for printing it in general, and another one like that guy said.

Great job =)

maybe you could also make it add like a red (or purple or some other disctinct color) circle around the most recent point so you wouldnt have to brute force guess and check your point and whether its on the mm. I know its kinda unneccesary but it would help

2008-08-11 01:26:56

What is the maximum distance between valid points, in a realistic sense?

Like if you could do:
for n:= 0 to High(Path)-1 do
begin
x:=Dist(Point(aaaa,bbbb),Point(xxxx,yyyy));
if x < MaxDist and x > MinDist then BLAH;
end;

If you did something like that you could essentially pick 50 points between the two locations, and have it randomly pick among valid points which one to move to next.

The PathMaker only gets the tiles, it is not its responsibility to make it look human or not ;) if the tiles are correct it did exactly what it was supposed to do.

well… thats the beauty of it, I dont have to :P

get a screenshot of around ardougne, where you want to get your tiles, load it in PathMaker, log in to RS through smart, go to ardougne, get a tile, get the same tile in PathMaker (with x-offset and y-offset set to 0 !!!) and then fill in the right x-offset and y-offset so that the tile on PathMaker is the same as the one gotten from Smart.

Bit complicated, but I'm sure you get the picture … get it … get the picture :spot: :D

Do you have to copy the whole runescape world or just the part that you want to work with and If you have to copy the whole runescape world how do you do that?

Sumilion

2008-08-17 17:32:51

There is an included BMP of the free runescape world map. It is set to use that by default

but…

if you want to use a custom piece of RS, take the screenshot, save it as a bitmap and load it in runescape. Now log in and use Scar + Smart to get your current tile location (using GetMyPos you can write the x and y tile). Load PathMaker, load your bitmap, SET x-offset AND y-offset TO 0!!! very important ! Now click on the bitmap, on the same spot your acc is on.

Now you've got 2 tile locations, one from Scar + Smart, which is the actualy location, and one from PathMaker, the difference between the tiles must be set as the offsets. So the difference x from rs and PathMaker goes in x-offset and y difference in y-offset.

But I'd just suggest using the standard bitmap :)

So, where did you get the image. It's missing large sections. Would it be difficult to have it updated? I can do it if you would like. But, I personally need the duel arena, and I'm sure some others would like the other areas as well.

Btw, awesome tool. :D

Edit: If you still want suggestions, you could also make the minimap circle decrease when people would like to Increase the Distance before stopping when they walk a path.

In RRW all you do is plugin the radians.

You can use any world map that you make, with the correct offset. I'd recommend just going and picking the tiles yourself if the part of the world map that you're looking for isn't on the current map, though. You'll find that the points will be a lot more accurate and it'll take less time to do than making a map would.

Set the offsets to 0/0, go in RS and stand anywhere thats also visible on the map for pathmaker, get the location (using SMART or something idk), click on the same location in pathmaker and input the difference in the two locations as offset. Click on the location again to make sure its the same as SMARTS location, voila ;).

Does anyone know if it's possible to have this return the coords of the image as the points in the path? So it would work with SPS?

Train

2011-02-12 22:37:48

Well, let's take a look at the source.

tl;dr: Yes it can be done with a few modifications. Mess with a few other functions and you can have it working.

const
GridSize = 4;

viewing,
      if not InRange(x * GridSize, 0, ImageView.Bitmap.Width) or not InRange(y * GridSize, 0, ImageView.Bitmap.Height) then
TileEditor.Values[IntToStr(i + 1)] := IntToStr(Path[i].x + StrToIntDef(XOffset.Text, 0)) + ', ' + IntToStr(StrToIntDef(YOffset.Text, 0) - Path[i].y)
else begin
Path[i].x := x;
Path[i].y := y;
end;
specifically,
if not InRange(x * GridSize, 0, ImageView.Bitmap.Width) or not InRange(y * GridSize, 0, ImageView.Bitmap.Height) then
x pixel (x * GridSize)
y pixel (y * GridSize)

assuming that SPS works within the same coords as the PathMaker.
Mess with a few other functions and you can have it working (paths/loading/saving/verification to all work off pixels and not tiles).

Hi everyone! I seem to be having some trouble loading the image in the pathmaker application and I would really appreciate some help.

So i downloaded the Pathmaker folder using the uppit link above and I ran the Pathmaker.exe. I tried to load the image but i get this error:

Access violation at address 0040336C in module 'PathMaker.exe;. Write of address 000000000.

I'm not sure what this means. I'm using crossover on mac OSX to run the .exe file. The image is in the same folder as the .exe file, not sure if that matters.

Thanks for any help.
