Runescape Fullscreen...Without Membership!

With the new release of the resizable game window, Jagex has made is available for free players to play in fullscreen. In this tutorial, I will tell you how to.

First off, you will need the latest FireFox, available from here: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

Secondly, you will need Mozilla FireFox's advert blocker add-on. You can download this from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10

Or you can use another add-on from Mozilla; Firebug. You can download it from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843

Finally, you will need a PC that can cope with it.

Now that you are running FireFox with the ad blocker add-on installed, go onto Runescape.

Continue as usual until you reach the load screen.

Once you get there, before the advert at the top loads, right click it, and at the bottom, there is something like "Block iFrame". Click on that.

Where the advert should be will now be black. This is against the rules, but Jagex can't find out unless you go around shouting out you use an ad blocker.

Now wait for Runescape to get to the login screen. Once there, press F11, and the window should go fullscreen. If it doesn't then press "View" at the top of FireFox, and then click "Fullscreen".

There you go, you are basically playing Runescape in Fullscreen, without a Runescape membership!

Screenshot:

This is a picture of using the ad blocker add-on, not Firebug.

Another way to do this is with FireBug; another FireFox addon.

Download FireBug, and open Runescape like above.

Right click the ad, and press Inspect Element.

When you move your mouse the code in the box that appears, an area on the screen gets highlighted.

Stop at the piece of code which highlights the ad.

Now where it says Height(56) - just an example, put Height(0), and ad will be gone!

Enjoy!

My brother gave me the idea. I showed him the resizable screen option, and he said to use F11, I hadn't thought of that. The only thing that bugged me was the ad at the top, so I Googled for an ad blocker, found one, tested it, it worked. Sorted!

instead of using adblock use firebug (another addon for firefox) then you can get rid of everything including the add and the bit where it says home, upgrade to members etc.

i will get you a pic 1 min

EDIT: here is the pic
and if you look on the world number it is 123 which is a free world

I use the AD-blocker all the time.

Well all he really said was to download Ad-Block then load up Runescape. Then RIGHT Click On an ad you want to block and find/click on the option "Adblock Image…" it should bring up your ad-block preferences and just click OK. That ad has been blocked!
Now just make your window full screen anyway you can (he suggested pressing F11 button) and walla! you're now playing RS in HD FULLSCREEN NO ADS !

Tut tut, just use javascript.

javascript:d=document.getElementsByTagName('tr');d[0].style.display='none';void(0);

Put that in the address bar of any browser, then hit F11. Easier then installing add-ons.

For those who are confused as to what to do with firebug:

Right click anywhere on the background of the page and click Inspect Element

Go to html->body->table->tbody and delete the first tr (right click -> delete element)

Hit F11

Good idea, I'd really appreciate if I still played RS :p
