Hi, I'm Aelin, Maybe you've heard of me, maybe you haven't.
I used to do a lot scripting over at RSBot (I'm a global moderator there), which I hope you guys won't hold against me. I'm the author of ProFisher, ProMiner, DrFisher, DrAnyCooker, DrCrabBot Reborn, ect, and I'm pretty knowledgeable about programming in general and I'm hoping that I'll be able to become pretty active here. I have experience in x86 Assembly, Basic, C/C++, Java, Pascal. I am a professional programmer, I work for Magic Wand in Bristol, VA as a heavy industrial programmer (Ladder Logic for PLCs and Java for HMIs)

Interesting. I doubt anyone will hold that againts you though, but gl if you plan to script with SCAR.. Way more challenging than RSBot ;)

Hes a great programmer.
Ive seen him making scripts in java for RSBot.
Im sure he will contribute to the community.

Thank you :) Currently I'm attempting a chicken killer for the purpose of creating something simple to learn SCARs functions and level up my new RS account (Seeing as my old one got 10/10 on first offense)

I wanne be a programmer aswell, can you suggest any books (titles, authors) that are very good ones to learn from? Delphi/Pascal/Java/VB etc:)

Btw, if you're an experienced programmer at Pascal, it shouldn't be that difficult to program in SCAR (it's a pascal related program;)).

I recommend SAMs books starting out, that is what I used, along with google, it's my best friend.

I also just came from rsbot, but alas, I am a leecher so there is no point in making my own thread :/

Welcome, nice to see someone come here from RSBot, lately it seems like people have been going to RSBot not coming from RSBot.

Definitely a total different way of autoing on runescape, more challenging than atObject(findObject(rock), "Mine"); ;)

You definitely seem good at RSBot scripting and seem like a smart guy, you should be able to pick it up very fast and excel, good luck and nice to have you here

Hopefullt you will be able to comtribute and become a SRL member over time ( btw do you intend to script with SMARTS new reflection or normal color when the hooks are updated)? anyway good 2 have you here.

rsbot is down right now so I'm checking out this site, it's better than horrible nexus :O (Actually there's one one script there I'm using, the rest are awful)

We have working hooks ;). Speljohan had them up then took them down like 5 minutes later. Then again, I'm pretty sure he was stoned at the time >.<

i had around 4 people telling me they stopped going to rsbot forums and stuff, due to lack of help/niceness and so on.

is that why you left them too?

Pit of flame and skiddies. If they had better mods and rules, their forum would accelerate more.

Nah - I was admin. Mostly, I just get tired of the randoms adding me or messaging me, "OMG FIX UR SCRIPT ZOMG WOW" and "ADD THIS AND THIS AND THIS". Anyhow, we had removed the flame section but the flame started spreading elsewhere.

Cool dude. I'm down for talking to you. I also have some ideas i need to get started on. Wanna help?

Well I wasn't going to read this, but I noticed how popular this welcome thread was (which is kinda rare), so I decided to pop in. And now I know why it is so popular! Welcome to SRL, hope you like it here.

omfg aelin, after you left rsbot and your fisher stopped working so well i started fixing it back up for myself and learned ALOT…i even got it to work perfectly with barehanded fishing =D. in a way you leaving rsbot was a good thing =]
on a side note, this is my first post i came from rsbot also because they are making rsbot 2, and it will most likely blow balls =/

Welcome to SCAR/SRL. Just one question, you have been here for over a month, have spent 4 hours 45 minutes on the forums and only have 10 posts. No offence but you look like a stereotypical SRL Leecher…
Hopefully you are planning on contributing but are just busy or something.
