Ok, so heres the situation

Noob spammer writes
Nice script, its cool

Slightly less noob writes
Omg noob stop spamming!

What are your thoughts on this? Im sure everyone agrees the first post is spam, but what about the second, is he equally as annoying?
does the spammer give the right to the second poster to post something almost as equally pointless?

Surely a simple pm would be sufficient to curb the spammers ways?
On the other hand, it should be made public? does the spammer need to be publicly embarassed?

I think the second post is equally annoying. How about you?

Spam is an offtopic post, or a useless post.

If you post "Stop spamming" or anything related, and the post doesn't contain anything related to the thread it is spam.

No, he doesn't have the right to spam. You can say that, but add something useful to the thread.

there allready was a thread about this a half year ago, and my opinion is still the same.

when you see some one spamming just hit the button, and ingore the spammer. A mod will make him cold. Spamming that some one is a spammer is even more spamm and anoying IMO.

Haha, gotta watch out for the spam monsters, eh?

As for such counter-spam which turns out to be spam, I will post a counter-spam line, such as "stop writing off-topic comments" or something along that line, then follow up with something that relates to the thread, such as "by the way, I agree that a cheese-buying script should be made to the public, but the experienced scripters get to decide what they do with their code or not".

Those are just examples, don't take them by heart :p
