I currently have SCAR up and running under wine, but it won't let me download SRL.

The error message I get is about not being able to move the SRL plugins to the plugins folder. This happens when I try to download SRL via the subversion repository. (Yes I have subversion installed as well.)

Any other linux users that can help?

Just download and move the plugins manually.

I can get everything to work under Ubuntu 8.04 except SRL. It would work however if you downloaded it on Windows and copied it over to Ubuntu. I'm dual booting so it works for me.

I think I am going to try that. I am on a relatively old laptop, so dual booting isn't for me.

Got it all to work! :D

Heres how. Download scar from the SVN. its address is http://www.srl-forums.com/srl-repos

so the command is
"svn co http://www.srl-forums.com/srl-repos" do it in your Includes folder.

Then move the srl-repos folder to SRL. Do that with a mv srl-repos SRL

Now copy all the plugins over to the plugin folder, they are in the "place into plugins folder" Or something like that.

Now you have SRL completely install. To get smart to work you need to go to java.com and download the lastest version of java for windows and install it with wine.

Done!

boberman, thanks for the solution ! I think I am going to write a shell script to do it tonight for all linux users.

I made a simple shell script that probable works to download the repository and moves the plugin folder.

just go to terminal and run "sh location/of/script/UpdateSRL.txt"

It worked for me. How about rechecking out and then moving them by hand?
