I am increasingly angry with my new computer. It has Vista on it. I am pissed off for these reasons

• It won't run subversion right
• It can't play my favorite game :(

I am so pissed off I got my old computer with viruses on it (:S) and reformatted it (:)) so now I can script (:D)

Feel free to share your rants, and I can't wait for Microsoft to come out with something better than this shit.

Vista is not shit, most likely the shit is your knowledge of how to properly use a computer and your failure to do research before making such false accusations. I am running Windows Vista, I have been since about a month after it was released, and guest what. Not a damn single problem.

Mine runs SVN just fine, and what's the game you're having problems with? A solution is usually the UAC (User Account Control). You can right click your executable goto properties, and find the box that says "Run as Administrator" or you can go to the Run dialog, type MSCONFIG, proceed to the Tools tab and launch the option called Disable UAC.

Learn how to use the operating system or a) don't use it b) STFU about it. I'm sick of people calling Vista crap when they don't know how to use it FFS!

I play Civilization 4 and i finally found a patch for it.

<rant>I think it maybe the damn computer or vista because it keeps crashing on me. I also hate the "are you sure you want to do this", then "are you really sure you want to do this. It wastes my time when I already said yes once. Vista is a RAM hog and makes my comp crash. I don't know about yours but mine is a complete piece of shit. </rant>

For the <rant>"are you sure you want to do this", then "are you really sure you want to do this.</rant>, follow what I said for disabling UAC, that's what is causing these messages. It's extra security that most people don't need, especially if you're the only person using your computer.

As for the ram hoggage, it's time you upgrade if there's not enough for vista. You can also disable AERO by right clicking on the desktop, choosing personalize, choosing Color and Appearance, clicking Open Classic Properties, then Vista Basic effect.

What do you mean by upgrade. And thanks for the tip on the extra security annoying thing :)

It probably just needs an extra stick of ram or something. You can never have too much.
