Runescape HD is coming out right now for members. New graphics.
What will happen with RS cheating now?
Maybe runescape 2 will dissappear after some time too like RS classic, and there only will be runescape hd?
Look at the specs:
To play RuneScape HD, your computer will need the following system specifications:

* 1.5 GHz processor or higher
* 256MB of RAM or more
* 64MB 3D Graphics card, such as Nvidia(R) GeForce(TM) 3 or above
* Sun Java 1.4 or higher

OMG, there are people who cant even run that. And that all on Java?

Things I noticed at a glance

RuneScape has been reworked and now looks better than ever! If you are a member, you will be able to access this update by following the directions below. If you are a free player, you can expect to be playing RuneScape HD as soon as the Beta period is over. Free players who select RuneScape HD will receive a preview of the new graphics, meaning they can see how it runs on their machines, but will be unable to play in it.

NOTE - this is a live Beta. This means that if you lose or win an item, die or gain experience, it is for real - the effects will remain on your account even after the Beta period is over. Please do not throw away items thinking that you will get them back after the Beta period.

Playing RuneScape HD:

You will notice that the website has been given a fresh lick of paint, but your path to the game remains as simple as before. Click 'Play RuneScape' on the new RuneScape front page to get to the Detail Select page. Then click the right-hand button, 'RuneScape High Detail', to select the new version. Finally, choose your world, and then start playing.

To play RuneScape HD, your computer will need the following system specifications:

1.5 GHz processor or higher
256MB of RAM or more
64MB 3D Graphics card, such as Nvidia(R) GeForce(TM) 3 or above
Sun Java 1.4 or higher
Once the game has loaded, you can use the in-game Graphics Options menu, within your Options tab (the one with the spanner), to further increase or decrease your level of detail. You can also change them on the log in screen. So, if you are experiencing slowdown, try reducing the number of graphical features.

The new fullscreen mode can also be toggled on or off in the in-game Options tab or the log in screen.

When you have set your preferred graphics options, your settings will be remembered as the default every time you log in on that machine. You may change these graphics options at any point.

Playing in the old detail modes:

To access the old High or Low Detail modes, click the left-hand 'RuneScape' button on the Detail Select page. This option manages to be both the old detail modes, rolled into one! You will be able to use the in-game Graphics Options menu to choose the exact level of detail you wish to play in. If you turn everything to minimum you get the old Low Detail mode, and if you turn everything to maximum you get the old High Detail mode.

The loading is hella long.

They might have overdone it a tad.

Logout is changed, login also , I think autocolor might be broken aswell.
Also.. brightness and things are also changed.
Gametabs are also different colors I believe.
I like the update to play legit, but it sucks for srl:(
I hoped old low detail would still be there, seems to be a no:(

Well there having alot of stuff runinin on java. I dont think they could beat WoW. From rsc, to this.

Yeah I'm one of those people who can't run the High high High Detail on my comp… But my mom's new comp can run it! :confused: My computer isn't even that old.

It's pretty interesting to see, and yes they did make changes to the gui and the way items look in the low/high detail so things will need to be re-worked I imagine.

Anyways, another interesting update.

i dont know whats the bid deal, as far as i remember there are plenty of betterly graphic'ed free games out there. And they really need to update their music and sounds now.

SMART is not broken, the end of the world URL has been changed to /p0, and I think Ben can fix that in no time… Java bots then again, might be in deep shit…

No, autoing will not be dead.

Please wait for us devs to update SRL, and then autoing will be restored :)

because the 'normal' detail mode is still there, i think SRL could be updated rather easily (it seams possible considering what the devs. have been able to do in the past :) ).

i am concerned that the update may have brought new ways to detect macroing or link members of an army together so they can be banned all at once.

i trust that the skill of our devs. will get us up and running soon, but i am still worried about new ways of linking armies together.

just try to check the small box under the details options, and see for ur self^^

Crysis has better graphics imo, and only 4xAA, and even then at 1600x1200 50 FPS wtf? They need better graphics :p
Fightcaves do look fucking awesome now, but I'll finish the last 7 waves at the old low detail I think.

my graphic card is for 2000… so it doesn't work xD ill find a way.

My computer is so fucked up it is rediculous. In high detail, I lasted 2 minutes before the entire thing froze and in low detail I lasted about 3.5 minutes.

jagex makes me laugh

the devs here do some massive work at the same time as jagex our devs solve almost all the randoms

and jagex annihilates SRL our devs do about 10 hours work and we back where we started but we still

not sure if anyone else has noticed this or not, but did you guys also see they are boosting membership costs starting august 4th?

you can even get your unsigned applet by clicking java options in the 'play now' tab on the main page.

With this new update, you cant move more than like 5 feet without it haveing to load or without it lagging.
I hope it doesn't stay this way, otherwise I could care less about the graphics…

I don't think it's a little graphic because in the update teaser they showed a screenshot of that error with a player standing in the middle of it. Possibly a new area to explore, or if someone knows where that actually is the feel free to prove me wrong :p

Looking at the screenshots it's not too bad, but not exactly good compared to most games today :D .. If it'll be f2p and I won't suddenly lose all interest to RS again I might consider using it :p

Its beta for members now, and it will be f2p later too;)

The Land Looks awesome but everything else looks mediocre i mean you only have to wait a week or so for runescape hd to go live!

really nice , good graphics , maybe that should encourage me to play runescape legit once again , lol, anyways , we will have to wait to get next rev that might come with lot of updates , more than we were expecting.

We cant auto by now , but we are not beaten yet , lol…:D

Your in f2p for one thing, the major updates are in p2p. But still in p2p if your turn all the fx off the only thing that's really different is the characters and a few other small things.

It took me about 30 seconds to download it, Most of my friends at school said it took 10 minutes, Well I'm on a quad core 3.0 and 4gb ram and 4mb internet so meh

what took so long for download…
btw i also have a quad core(good stuff:sasmokin: ) and 4gb ram, the only thing o don't got is the fast internet but that doesn't matter with it they will never upload more than 900kb/s

Well as long as your screen has 720 vertical pixels; e.g. 1680 x 800 or 1280 x 800 then when you play runescape fullscreen it will be High Definition.

We look like god dam cartoons!!! i hate the new update, in the beta it lags alot aswell and i know its not my computer because everyone else has said the same. Jagex needs to fix it a bit. I just use old detail even though im a member.

Well, i'm also waiting for the update. In the mean-time you can still auto.

Just it's more complex, start logged in, and change the colour detection. You can make your own auto login and use that instead of the built in one.

It's still upscalled that's not true HD.

Its not HD for High Definition, thats a mistake

Its HD for High Detail, but they may have called it HD to catch attention and make people think it means HD

And i think the graphics are really good, for a browser java game. WOuld be neat if i still played legit

haha good joke….runescape will NEVER amass the fanbase of WoW. WoW is just so much better

yeah cant run airs anymore they updated the alters but i still like full screen except the inventory is annoying…

anyone got some ideas when scar will be up and working again?
