OMFG! :eek: I came across this while randomly wasting time on the Jagex website:

This was on their vacancies page so they are looking for a NEW HEAD OF RUNESCAPE!!!

Lol they propely fired the other guy for losing half of all runescape players!

trying to do wat he thinks making people happy at the expense of money… what a jerk… if i lived in cambridge i would apply for that job…prolly not get it but i would try lol. I would be macroing on my jagex account so much and not gettting randoms cause i would turn them off…..[blackwoman]ooooooh child[/blackwoman]

Looks like a standard project manager position to me, ensuring all their updates and progressing to schedule and things like that

Andrew Gower owns Jagex, they can't fire him and my guess would be he's the 'Head of Studio' referred to in the notice

This could turn out bad for us. It could be some like retired military leader who is like the biggest hardas* in the world and would do all these kinds of updates just to ruin us(and everyone would quit playing).

Reporting to the Head of Studio, the successful candidate will provide leadership and strategic direction to the RuneScape project and the core team development team. They will also be responsible for the commercial performance of the game.

So this "head" reports to another head who reports to another one who reports to Andrew.

Also, someone mentioned applying for the job…yeah you won't get it but if you did, why would you macro? Instead of turning randoms off you could…uhmm…oh yeah, just spawn items and such but why?

I made myself laugh when I was writing it too. I don't think it will change for worse either but it could… I just wanted to say that lol!!:p

This position just sounds like a PR and resource management style opening. Not like they are out of having a huge game developer at the moment or anything.

I don't know if Andrew is in lead of RuneScape anymore, in terms of development etc, I think he might aswell just be the Head Partner…

I hope if there comes some new leader responsible for updates etc they would bring unbalanced trade and wilderness back…

Yea they probably did fire him as said above because of all the crap updates that are making them loose money like a bucket full of water that go shot by a shot gun.

lol that is exactly what i was thinking, i wish it did come back then it would be awesome and autoing would be at a all time high :D.

and if they did bring in that Ex army guy or what eva and made it impossible for us to auto and ruin the game it wouldn't really matter because everyone would quit it lol
