No, I'm not going crazy :)
I just tried to report 2 posts for spam, and found myself up against a 1 minute waiting time. SSRL doesn't need uber-macho powers, but it'd be nice if we could help out w/out wasting time like that, right?

i usually press report/ give infraction and just switch tabs :p
works. and most of the time that i check the user's profile while the infreaction page is not done loading yet, the infraction is already there.

Its because every time you report a post, a new thread is created in the moderators forum. We have set it so that you can only post once every 60 seconds to avoid spam, and the only people who are exempt from this are administrators.
Unfortunately, I think you're just going to have to deal with it
