Okay, here's the problem, whenever I load a script with SMART, my laptop hangs, here're the specs:
1.6GHz Intel Centrino processor
512mb RAM
And quite a lot of free space in HDD.

SMART loads after I press the play button on SCAR, but after I log in, the whole Runescape screen just goes white blank and nothing happens, and then I can't close SMART/SCAR without going to the task manager. Plus, it really lags my laptop.

I have no problem whatsoever with my PC:
Intel C2D 2.4GHz
2GB RAM.

Help please?

Buy some more RAM. And/Or set the bar at the right to about 1 cm (0,39 inch) from the bottom. That should reduce the CPU usage lower. Good luck with it.

If you're running windows vista, get rid of it! NOW!
in my laptop with XP and 1 gb ram, i can run up to 4 scar&smart clients without getting any problems (never tested more than 4, i might be able to open more) and in my other laptop, wich is running VISTA and has the same specs, i can open only one client, and i have to give it priority on the task manager :/ and no way i'm opening both scar + windows live messenger at the same time, WLM lags a lot :S

I can get 3 on vista with 1 gig RAM and without "giving it priority". What kind of processor are you using? Adding more RAM doesn't always do it.

duh your having problems…vista is recomended for computers with over 2 gigs of ram. Plus, it includes processor speeds. Vista is significantly better than XP. Seriously, update your computer, memory is super cheap now and a halfway decent processor won't set you back more than 200.

Not to start a debate in this thread, but… how?

i enjoy the multi-media functionality, the better user interface, higher security. I'm lazy and i enjoy everything at my fingertips even at the loss of some functionality. Plus if you have a half-way decent computer, i have noticed no differences in speed between vista and XP. Some people prefer XP, i prefer Vista

Fair enough. This is my last post here; I was just wondering why you were saying that.

But I just want to respond to a couple things you said there before I end this post:
First off, it's pretty much a fact that XP is faster than Vista. There are lots of benchmarks to prove it. Second, I'm pretty sure it has much lower security. As for the UI, I agree it looks better, although you can still make XP look just like that.

Anyways, if you want to respond, I think you should PM me. Although this conversation is kinda useless :p
