WoW does massive ban wave - more info

As many of your have noticed I haven't been very active. This is mainly due to my botting of World of Warcraft. Well today @ 3:30pm that has changed. All 4 of my accounts were banned today in Blizzards massive ban-wave. Just to give you an Idea what I lost, I had 5 70s, and an upcoming warlock on the last account. The oldest account being 3 years old. 3/5 of the 70s were full epics (one of the highest rating gear).

Note this is a mark of a big turning point for many that had botted on WoW, including myself. For me this has probably stopped my obsession with Wow and I will probably return to Runescape and continue scripting where I left off.

On the good side I won't be spending $60 a month for playing WoW anymore, whats bad is no more selling WoW gold. :(

So I hope to be back after this.

Wow (no pun intended) that sucks kinda, is good for us lol, im surprised that they weren't cracking down more… kinda weird, it is such a huge game and expensive, you would think they would want just legit players…

Well if they banned all the "glider" people and other botters, its close to 500k people if they did so. The decision to ban these people would have to be an executive decision and/or share holders vote due to the amount of money involved. Thats just my guess.

I'm scared to try WoW for fear of addiction. I'd rather play basketball. You can cheat in basketball too and won't get banned…unless you use steroids.

2008-05-21 03:23:47

OUCH!
Full epics aswel.
I was going to join WoW botting but decided not to seeing that you spend that much money >.<
They seem to be closing down a lot more on botters..
They didn't used to be bothered but now.. They ban thousands of accounts :(
Meh unlucky and welcome back :)

I made and spent a lot of money on it… I wish I sold the last of my gold before banwave… oh well. lol I probably spent $200 on wow in the last couple months moving toons around etc. But I still made a profit selling gold.

Good friend of mine had 2 accounts banned as well. Its okay though, needed to move away from World of Warcrack. I'll go back to scripting which is semi-productive as you learn a code.

Haha yay we get more experienced scripters. Alternatively you can always try private WoW servers, to play for fun, of course. That's how I played WoW.

Lol serves me right eh? I knew I could possible be banned for it. I did it mostly for fun just like botting on RS. So you can hardly point out cheating on WoW when ur posting on a cheating forum for another game. The same rules apply to both games, and the same consequences. Basically your being a hypocrite. :P

The $60 per month is from having 4 accounts. Not to mention the transfers I made (moving a character to another account) which costs $25 a transfer.

All I know about WoW is that 70 is the max level, hoping that I am right…

Sorry for your loss =/

I just can't understand why do they call a good armour epic?

There is various armor "classifications" which shows u how rare/common the item is.

In game there is currently these color classifications:
Grey - has no use can be sold to a npc for base value with no worries
White - has a use some how
Green - considered "uncommon" has the most basic of magical properties
Blue - considered "rare" has better stats then uncommon
Purple - considered "epic" this quality is usually the best any high level person gets. They are very rare.
Orange - considered "Legendary" these are hardly ever seen. At most there is only a handful if none on a single server. And I think each server can hold 50k people or more, maybe even 100k.

and thats the break down

/end boredom and rant

I've botted my lock until level 40, then I stopped botting. Had all my characters on the same account so I was afraid of getting banned.

I feel sorry for those who lost their accounts due to the banewave.

Blizzard has been trying to sue the creators of WoWGlider, but the case has been postponed until this year. I'd assume the results are going to be available some time further.

Some people who bot in WoW make it look so obvious. Especially since they run the same route over and over again.

Blizzard does crack down on bots, just not as crazy as Jagex (Lol trade limit)

I made a pretty good profit. I can't say how much exactly cause I didn't keep track but it was good money. Better then a part-time job.

Aye specially my main account, I had 3 70s on it and my main Mage that I had 3 years of work into… /sigh

On a side note I'll probably pick this back up (botting). Gold buyers have been asking for gold more now. (I wonder why? lol)

also banned, i to used a glider that cost me only $5, but i got almost $200 in profits, only used 1 account 3 hours a day. Had a full t6 druid, and full t6 hunter, lol been playing since the day WoW came out. I hate that game, my cousin who played lost his job, his gf, his house, and even his dogs (he couldnt afford to feed them) to that gay life consuming game.
