Horrible Pagination

For the poor users like me who run at 1280x1024 resolution, some forums are displaying insane lengths of page numbers.

Don't know if it's a setting I changed, or if everyone else is getting it, but with Firefox running at 50% CPU usage because of overloaded extensions, it's very laggy.

Can we limit the page numbers displayed by using some sort of ellipsis?

I like the page numbers like that. How about an option in our settings?

Well there is an option to limit the threads to display only the most recent ones, but I would be severely gimping the functionality of the forum :(

It's no big deal - I'm not demanding anything (I'm not a bad guy), but it feels nicer to reduce the size to something like "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 … 56, 57, 58 … 68, 69, 70, 71, 72"

Again - it's no big deal, just a aspect of this forum I'll need time getting used to :)

It's been around for quite a while…brought up many times…not done anything about.

Unfortunately, this occurs because the page has been custom made by someone. This means that to fix the problem, the php of the page must be edited.

Only Dankness has the power to do this, so until he gets the time to fix it, the page is stuck like that

Assuming you're referring to drunkenoldma he is just an SRL member, and probably has no power to edit site codes. (On second thought he might, with php master title)

drunkenoldma could fix it, But only dankness could put it on the site. Therefore useless

It's actually for SEO. The more links to a page, the more it's indexed, the popularity of it goes up and so on, so every thread gets seen by search spiders.

Actually, it's not. The forum software was designed that way and wasn't meant to have topics that huge. It uses a lot of php writing to html files for the SEO, but it's fairly simplified outside of that and instead just lists them all out as the easy option. Also, it would require a lot of work to change it unless very familiar with the boards workings due to the intricate linking of files, though if you're fairly experienced with it, it would probably just be in the one page.

mixster already said the forum has PHP which writes html? Besides, vbSEO wouldn't fix the pagination since that's not the design purpose of vbSEO
