Using Opera on SRL-Forums

This is a serious pain, as I hate using multiple browsers, Internet Explorer is slow, and the Firefox tab system is annoying. So whats left? Opera. Probably one of the best browsers you'll find.
Problem is, at least, when I use Opera and try to visit parts aside from the homepage, it logs me out.
Anyone else getting this?

This fix, ditch Opera and use firefox.

I always use opera, the certain parts logout thing I don't get. Opera stores a lot of info from sites so that it can load easily, but if it stored info from when you were logged out it will load that info too. Refresh the page, if you are logged in then, everything is fine.

i was under the impression that opera was supposed to not keep any data, so it could be anonymous.

And-how could you not like firefox! the tabs is one of the best parts!

Why is that, because some 'NERD' said that at one point in time and all the other little followers spread the word? Why does the security matter that much…as long as you use your head and don't download random things then your fine with viruses + you can use a simple free anti-virus like AVG if your that charasmatic. IE gets hacked easily? Lol…I doubt anyone would have any use in hacking your computer. Virus maybe, but hacking? lol.

You can only evaluate browsers on preference, easy to use, looks cool, stablness, etc. Security? lol…please, anyone who thinks their browser security helps them, &#@%&#@$^%*@^#*%^%$*&^%@#$.

Anyways, I prefer IE because it looks cool, many features + programs work well with it. Firefox is my second choice because it is more stable and thats pretty much it. Tab system on IE over-rules FF.

Wow. Damn you're smart..

Seriously, ie fails compared to most (if not all) other web-browsers, atleast the "big ones". It's just a fact that it's sort of retarded, it's way behind in any kind of progress and development, not to mention there's most exploits for it and worms and whatnot are made to spread through ie.. But, but.. Why?

Because ALOT of people use it.. And why are they so silly to use ie? Because they're either computer illiterate or just lazy nubcakes that just can't be f'd to get firefox.. Now hold on a second, there's also the bunch that have stupid and pointless reasons for liking ie over other browsers. I'll list a few stupid ones I've heard.

1. "its lyk cooler and prettier" - You can get different skins for firefox too…
2. "its faster" - Oh GTFO, we both know it isn't.
3. "it workz better" - No.
4. "its stable" - Seriously, it's piss easy to crash and even I know like 20 exploits to crash ie with.
5. "easier to use" - Oh come on? About all browsers looks really similar, and many things are way easier to do with firefox as you can get some nice plugins for it too.

… Also, what features and programs possibly work better with ie than firefox? And if there are such programs (and or features) I'm sure you can find better ones that work with FF too.

Also it's funny to see your attitude.. "ah to hell with security", "i wont get trojans as far as my uber antivirus wont bleep", "nobody wants to send me viruses". No offense, but that just makes you sound stupid and computer illiterate and that "if i cant see it with my own eyes its not there" thinking works for babies and well, simplier people.

Just google to find out how wrong you are when you claim ie is better than firefox. You can like it more but it's worse. Kind of like you'd still prefer the good ol' SCAR 2.03 and sticking to it instead of updating just cause "you like it more".

So I suggest being a bit more 'NERD' and caring about security, as it's the last thing I'd neglect when choosing a browser.

Are you serious? You cannot count the amount of times Firefox has prevented crazy keylogger-happy sites from executing on my computer. That 'NERD' you mentioned just happens to be a more experienced programmer than you. Firefox is open-source - so NERDs work on the project. And frankly they also know more about computer security than you.

Internet Explorer is less secure, and although you are arrogant and believe otherwise that you will never be hacked, I have a list of sites that potentially take advantage of exploits in IE. Firefox is the reason Internet Explorer was forced to update to Version 7.

Yes, you can evaluate browsers based on those criteria. Magically, Firefox also beats IE. Preferences? Easy to Use? Stableness?

Let me tell you, Firefox runs far more smoothly than Internet Explorer. I can disable and enable add-ons at will - add-ons which translate bits of a page for me, remove ads, alter styles and javascript on the fly, enable mouse gestures, and a notepad for creating a bibliography for research tasks. When I don't want to use them, I just uninstall them. When I want them again, I reinstall.

Once the extensions have installed, Firefox starts up just SLIGHTLY slower than Internet Explorer. The only reason is because Windows preloads explorer.exe, including files required to run IE. If you want a benchmark, you will need to run a standalone version of Internet Explorer. You'll be suprised by the results.

And are you seriously comparing Firefox to a Microsoft product for stableness? That's just 'lol'.

You say you prefer Internet Explorer, but you have clearly never used Firefox to a larger extent. I'm willing to bet my Firefox is far more functional, stable, and better looking than your precious Internet Explorer. I'm also willing to bet that the Firefox tab system has more features than you could imagine.

Good game.
