Are we SRL-Members allowed to use them? I used them in a post against a spammer… is it considered Admin impersonation :redface: ? Just making sure before I use them more… ;)

Somewhere a person was using them, and Wizzup? requested that he doesn't do it again. So I believe using admin tags is frowned upon.

Yeah I Loved using ADMIN tags :p. Wizzup Told me not to, so I Think [ADMIN] Tags are used by ADMINS ;)

I've only ever used them once, just to test them, then I edited my post and removed them. But I guess if you just posted with them in warning someone then the admins wouldn't mind as long as you are using them properly.

Then if it is meant for moderators and admins, then can't you restrict certain groups from using that piece of BBCode? I know you can in IPB, but not quite sure about vBulletin.

Just to warn you. People have been punished in the past for using admin tags after being told not to. Also if you do know how to do it. Please don't tell people. Then we'll have a bajillion people all using admin tags at eachother.

Just a question for some of you members, why do you want SRL Member tags? If you want to tell somebody something like not to spam, gravedig or double-post, if your SRL Membership matters to that person he will see it from your name, not think that he needs to kneel to the tags and go sacrifice people for 'em…

Also, even it's the end of the admin tag conversation already, Hobbit for example actively uses them. If you want to help the admins and mods, just report the posts and they will see it. If I'm wrong and it would be misuse of the post reporting system, just say so, but as far as I know, the opposite.

Yes n3ss3s has got the idea! Don't try and solve every problem yourself. It usually turns into a big mess that's harder to deal with then when it started. And leave the admin tags to the Staff :p But report, and if we don't think anything needs to be done we wont do anything. Simple as that.

If in doubt… report :p
