Do you think we should have Universal Health Care?


Me personally-
No.

I said no, because people would just "leech" it, lol, by not doing anything (like working, or paying taxes) but still get healthcare.

Exactly. I don't mind helping people.
I can't help people who don't help themselves.

if they have a job than i think they should get health care, otherwise they don't deserve it imo.

I don't live in the US but I think yes.

Why? Because what if the person was raised in a homeless family and couldn't get a job if they didn't stop trying for one, then got a painful disease and had to suffer through it and got turned down by the hospital because they didn't have any money.

Still, this is a form of communism.

If the Government starts providing free Health care then next the people are going to be wanting free cars and houses.

you could run 5 different departments of the federal government with hillarys plan for universal healthcare

The uk has free health care and everything works out here perfectly. No-one leeches it at all (apart from fat people).

Ok, here is my idea for having universal health care.

If you want to receive it, you must take a drug test. All I would ask.

I basically have to take a drug test to pay the taxes that would pay for the health care for you, so why shouldn't you take one to receive it?

Same thing would apply with social security and so on.

My idea of things: If you can't pass a drug test then you don't get much help.

So I vote no, because it will never come into effect because its too good of an idea.

I live in Alberta…CANADA!!! Anywayz the government was thinking about no healtcare in 4 years. Then they announced a week ago that no healtcare in 1 year!!! YAYAYAY And no extra taxes!!!

Yes. If you don't have it, you are basically killing people.

Well the problem is that government sucks because politicians dont take taxes away… just look at daylight savings time…

I don't know if I have already mentioned this but, the United States is the only country world that is taxed based on their global income.

Health care is a basic human right. I cannot believe how closed minded you all are being! If someone is sick, they should get help regardless of their financial standing. You are a bunch of elitists, penny pincher's, and throughly uncaring human beings.

I was under the impression that emergency care was free in the states, but everything else you have to pay for or have insurance to cover.

If well implemented a free health system like the NHS here in the UK would not require huge amounts of tax payers money while providing an excellent service. The problem is that the NHS is very poorly implemented with massive numbers of middle managers and stupid amounts of red tape
