Ive always used Munks smelter, and never tried Xcan's. Does anyone have an idea to compare the two to which smelts more bars faster?

This question ties in with my main dilemma. Im a few Xp away from 70 smithing. My goal is 85. Should i continue mining mostly coal and iron with a few mith on the side, smelting it, and then smithing it into armor sets?

or

Buy coal and mith ore from GE and just make mith bars and then resell bars?

What would be faster?

Just test them both for half an hour, and see which one does the most. Btw, I've very nearly finished my smelter, so maybe you can use that when I release :)

It doesn't matter really, Both are pretty good. But Xcan's is just pretty better becuase its been used more and updated alot.
Just my 2 cents.

Which way would be fastest? Using one of Rune HQ's calculators, i would need to make 85,000 mith bars to reach 85 if i did it the second way.

Depends, do you want cash?

Cuz the mith bars rack in lots of cash but the armor sets rack in more XP :)

Fastest xp is smithing Steel PlateBodys vs. anything else you can smith.

You guys forgot one place… Port Phasmatys. It is all the way east of the runescape world map. I used to go there a lot.

This place is like one click away also. Another plus about port phasmatys isthat you can use an ectophial(recieve after quest(easy)) that teleports you directly there. I may try to make a script for it, seems fun!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a closer furnace in edgeville?

bar smelting is the slowest way to gain smithing exp. but if you smelt you can gain money. smithing plates is the fastest way to gain smithing xp but im pretty sure you loose money like crazy. its all a matter of choice.

edit: and i think the bar/hr is about the same but it depends on the setup ( mine can take breaks between logins so you dont look conspicuous, etc…)

If you're a member smelting gold ores with goldsmith gauntlets is very fast, 56,2 exp/ore and doesnt cost too much

yes what codx1 is right i think that gold bars is the best balance between xp and not losing money.

Yeah as king of the nites said, port phasmatys is an awsome place , furnace is like 15 steps from bank , not a lot tho, A lot better than Al-kharid…but the disadvantage is that you have to do lots of quests to get there…its not good if you want a smelt with an army, but if you wanna do just one player its very fast…
