Quick switch tabs

So I was thinking we should start using the F keys to switch tabs, it would make it so the Gametabs would never break and thats pretty much all…

Or at least have the option in your SRL.scar to turn quick switch on/off. If we went only quickswitch i think it would look bot-ish because i really dont think many legit players use those tabs during woodcutting or mining ect…

It wouldnt be that hard to incorporate it though. :D

Any idea what happens if you press F1 in Firefox? Does it go to the first gametab or does it open Firefox's Help Interface?

If you are focused on the client, it switches the tab, otherwise will open the help

Thanks for that. Now I agree with you, but using it all the time will look a bit suspicious.

I don't think this works on Window 98 or 2000.

thats not really our problem is it? the majority of people have updated to windows xp or vista and srl is designed for the public majority isn't it?

The current GameTab breaks a lot when they change colors (not a big problem but could be avoided if we switched)

If u would actually open the gametab.scar, u would notice that it checks for the tab if it EXISTS! We would have to do the exact same thing if we added the f keys. Example: If in molly. Would u press esc to go to ur inventory that doesent exists? No.

Hope u understand. When jagex change colors again. It would break the f thingy too.

if you press for example F1 in SCAR, it will open the srl manual. And as JuKKa said, if you are pressing F keys and you are at molly, thats not a good idea.

Escape to bring up inventory.

And JuKKA I had forgot that it checks if they exist first. Was just a spur of the moment thought, didn't think it through.

We could make something that randomly chooses between clicking the gametab and clicking the hotkey maybe? Or possibly, do something like this

function Gametab(x: integer; hotkey: boolean; alternate: boolean): boolean;

And if you want them to alternate have false, true, just hotkeys have true, false, and just clicking have false, false. And scripters could set those as consts so if gametabs break a user could just make it use hotkeys.

If you do that you could still check and see if gametabs are gone right? (Never really looked into how that works…)

TabExists can just be one GetColor…it'll take 5 minutes for the Developers to fix.

Kind of smart idea, but maybe if some password would type to go into debug mode, where it pauses the script and let's you control some things, gametabs banks randoms….

This idea has been launched multiply times, even in some thread 1 day ago…

For once and for all : F-Keys do not work with SMART.

Well, as JuKKa stated. It will still break.

Another problem is that i set my hotkeys to run, pause, and stop SCAR to F keys because it is a little bit easier.
That overwrites the F keys for RuneScape.

But i agree that there should definitely be an option to turn F keys on or off.
And if it is on it will randomly pick to click it or F key it, maybe depending on the distance from your mouse to the tab?

How about if the tab is not found using traditional color finding (ie. the colors changed) then try the FKey option.

With a broken gametab usually comes a new revision.
