Possible glitch?

I've seen this happen a few times recently. Just today I noticed this one - http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=?t=31499&highlight=post

It looks like I posted the topic (which I did not). I remember replying to a post, and the person had double posted. At first I had thought that this was a minor glitch where the author of the post tried to delete the thread but instead it only deleted his post.

Here's another instance - http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=?t=27964

Why is this happening? I thought maybe when a person's postcount is reset, but when that happens, do their posts get deleted? Or maybe a mod tries to clean up spam and deletes the first post, making the second person look like the author (not to mention it looks like they've gone crazy lol).

I'm pretty sure it's the mods deleting the posts and as threads are 'authored' by the first poster, it just makes the 2nd poster the new author. If mods delete the whole topic then problem solved, otherwise it's just a bug in the forum software.

Well, this still causes problems…

1) People think you've gone crazy :p
2) On the second link Da 0wner got an infraction (maybe he resolved it, idk)

People can delete their posts. Just go to the advanced edit and there is an option to delete your post.

Go to one of your threads and try to delete your first post. It will say 'If you delete this post, the entire thread will be deleted'. And that's what supposed to happen.

Well ask Hobbit about it, I asked him, and he said that it was impossible that you weren't the author :p I still believe different. Well, I KNOW it to be different, seeing as it just happened to me.

Well really though, how could we have been the authors? The body of the topic is more of a reply….And as of mine it was a response to some leecher asking 'where can i download xxxxx?'

Mods try to delete the whole topic but only choose the 1st post, making the 2nd post the 1st keeping the original authors name.

@Moopoo

That could be right, but it takes whoever had the 2nd post's name. As the author
