Do you get this error?:

Download msvcr71.dll here.
Place it in your system32 folder.

I downloaded msvcr71.dll and placed it in my system32 folder.

I did this but the error message continue coming.
I've tried many scripts, but the same happens.
I have Scar Divi 3,15 and SRL SVN revision 15

What should i do?

I also had this problem when I was using SMART on a new computer. Turns out Java wasn't installed so that might be your problem.

don't you need java to play runescape? o.o

i dont think so…depends which java selection you choose at the low or high detail screen (scroll down to the bottom) might let you play without java

IT IS JAVA! Oh my god… RuneScape is created in java. and also please note that the applet reguardless to PLAY runescape WILL be java. So no, the client dose NOT have to be java, but runescape always will ;\

i tested this and i get a "bad image error" it sais : This application or DLL c:\WINDOWS\system32\MSVCR71.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

and then it follows up with the error code 16711422 bla bla bla. please advise?

Try redownloading the .dll file; the download probably 'timed out' while it was downloading (stops, but says it finished, leaving some information in the file incomplete).

ive downloaded and redownloaded many times, already tried this, still not working. At first i thought it was that my java wasnt updated, but i got the most recent java and have srl rev 16 and scar 3.15 and includes. Still not sure what to do

Thanks freddy , I just had to download the latest java and stopped showing the error. :D

Access denied :( (No Admin or such a thing), and my dad won't copy/paste it because the computer could crash :eek: No SMART for me anymore I think :(

proberbly the kind of parents that think "system"folders are pretty danguarous,and if u delete it, it will crash :confused:

still smart dont work :(

Also thanks Freddy, it said I was missing was dll's but it turns out I was just missing that one.

It wasn't designed for Vista…Search around but you could be out of luck.

porn, cracks, hacks and serials are the top 4 ways for someone thats desperate to either get a virus or to give you a virus please DO NOT use any of these I know i was using a serials site which unless asked for the url I will refrain from mentioning, yes they work but are full of un-detectable mal ware freeware shareware and even greyware that will wreck a mile long streak of havoc on a computer

OMG it worked ty so much, i bought a new computer with vista and smart didnt work but now it does tyvm:D

what program do i open it with?Cause when I downloaded it it was a scar file is it normal?

That's neither normal or possible…

There are ways to open the DLL, but you don't want to. (I often open them to debug them.)


I'll help you out.
Move the Embedded Smart.dll plugin to SCAR/Plugins/.
Restart all open SCAR's.
Try again.
If it still doesn't work, make sure you have installed java.
If this still doesn't work, post your error. (Probably mscrv71.dll not found, if any)

I've added msvcr71.dll to SCAR 3.20b's setup (for non-portable), that should finally take care of this problem

Scar wont start smart with any script. I am running scar 3.21 and 3.22, with the latest SRL and reflections. I have used all the scripts recently, but after the last Rs update I though I would update all my SRL/reflections via coh3n's scar install guide, which has always worked before. After updating all scripts compiled correctly, and all looks normal, but smart does not initiate. I tryed doing full reinstalls of SCAR/SRL/Reflections, and java with no luck. I'm running on Vista 64x, but that never effected anything before.

Maybe someone has some tips as to why smart wont start for me, it used to with no problems. The more info the better, I'll look through it all. Thanks for all your help guys… hope i can get scar/smart working with your helps :o

Yes it does. The URL was changed or something.. It might be fixed with the SCAR pre-release and the developer's revision of SRL.. I dunno. Check the IRC if you need more help. :)

So does anyone have smart working right now? Im using the pre release version of scar and the latest SRL and reflections with no luck. If this is all due to the latest RS update and smart still works for others I would like to know if there are any adjustments I need to make to get my smart working. Other wise I think there is something wrong on my end.

Unsigned Smart works. Signed does not. If you want to test it, try a non-reflection script with unsigned Smart, and it should work.

I figured out how to set unsigned on a script to script basis, is there a way to set this for all scripts that I run with scar?

And as Main_Ftw mentioned, It appears as though I need to fix the login procedure too? Because it does not log in now. Could anyone tell me how to do that please :)

Ok, nvm… I'll just wait for next public/working release of scar/SRL/reflections, thanks for help :)
