I was just wondering.
Does the scar community want a dedicated IRC channel on a stable, secure IRC network?
I can hook us all up, please vote and post your feedback.

Those of you that don't know what IRC is, it stands for Internet Relay Chat.
Basically, you download a client such as mIRC and connect to a chat server.
Then from there, you join a channel which there'll be people there for you to converse with.

The channel is: #srl

The commands would be like so:
/server irc.pseud0.net
/join #srl

You will need an IRC client such as mIRC. Just Google it and you'll see it available for download.

i said yes: why not?

but i don't really think an online chat would be used that much. scripting, in its very nature, is a solitary activity and although it might be useful at times, i dont think a IRC would get that much use.

but i really dont know. set one up. we will see.

we had one, but it kinda died. I though/think it was/is a good idea. Just as long as there are cool people to converse with :p.

What should the channel be called?
ex:
#srl
#scar

srl… !

and looks good we can talk about scripting and shit :P

I already had one a while ago - no one was active on it and it died.

I'll check the replies to this tomorrow, and if everything looks good I'll post the information.

Yah it would be a good idea! But some thing like Junior members only or otherwise we might get SPAMMED!!!! And now with S.M.A.R.T. we can auto and other stuff @ the same time! So I wouldn't mind running munk's forefeathers and talking to you guys at the same time!

i dont like vent , i think IRC is better…. typing.. :P lol

I love ventrilo… although I don't go on much anymore, I probably should ^.^
As far as an IRC server, I think that would be awesome! I'd probably use it…

I idled the old channel but it was kinda pointless when nobody was ever there :(

if we need one, at least let darkness make it, and it can not be on swiftirc, as people can send every one's ip to jagex and match it up with rs ips

SwiftIRC would also close down the channel.

But vent is mainly for talking, IRC is text chat.

Anyway, chatZilla ftw! Combining my love of FF with my love of spamming up IRC channels :)

well im here, mixster just left so its kinda boring, but otherwise i think this is a good idea, we just need to get more people active on it! altho we wouldnt appreciate spammers…. either way, im advertising with my sig

@Markus : Nobody uses the members one, if they do they are playing CSS whatever the hell lame game that is, we need a place where we can actually discuss code and stuff.

lol the vent is not just for members +

even with the few people we have, its fun:). Mixter is…interesting to say the least :p. Though i do think it would be cool if you could make like a code help/discussion part and a regular part. You know, so you can talk to people about stuff without all the talking of the regular part

I'm personally waiting for some Administrators to join it so I can setup some sort of ranking system within the channel.
We need more idlers and active people!

the irc channel being intigrated with SCAR.
that'd get it used.
