I've personally bought over 100k ess in the last week of the grand exchange all at minimum price, and what happens? the price increases by 3 gp (from 27-31 to 30-34)

Haha… I don't think its because you bought 100k ess that it went up. Consider how much ess is bought every day. Muhc more than 100k. You would need to buy many tens of millions of ess to affect the price. :)
I remember when I used to buy ess for 15 ea then sell for 30 - 40 ea… those were the days.

To be honest, 100k is nothing. ;)
When I still used to play RuneScape, I had friends that started buying Millions of Pure Essence, at the max price. Then, after the price had gone up even more, sell the Pure Essence for big profit. Noone else had a chance to get Pure Essence.

Meh, imo it's Jagex's attempt to control the rs economy

Also, imo there are ranges set for all the items, example guthan was going so down… it was like 6.2 min, suddenly it was back 8m max(after update).
Rune javelins are pretty pointless. Peoples try to sell them for min price, like I do. But they're still some 320 gb min, and ain't going lower.

They just added that in as they're trying to make it more like WoW and its Auction House. I'm guessing it was probably one of the biggest asked things - a place where they can sell stuff to other players without having to spam up a bank. They just added all that other crap in to safely allow the GE to start up without drastically reducing the economy. Now they just keep doing it to try and stop deflation happening as there's a lot less demand for most common items, so they have to artificially inflate it due to the large amount of money being pumped into the game with little getting taken out, so the prices have to keep increasing to try and balance it out. Well, atleast that's my theory. If only they made more items available to buy, then the world would be much nicer…

I think we can use the Grand Exchange to something good in autoing..
I've thinked of a script that buys iron and coal (numbers of iron u can buy is Money / 400, btw…), teles to Lumby and uses 10gp to get to Al - Kharid, then smelt into steel. Walk up to warrock sell steel and repeat! I call the script umm…! Ultimate Money Maker.

I checked it out and you make hardly any money from it (something like 10-25 gp) - Bronze bars give you just under 1k of profit per full load (based on high buy prices of Tin and Copper and low sell price of the Bronze bar's so it could easily be more) so you could even make tele back to Varrock and still make a pretty big profit (especially if it did multiple loads). Not to mention at a buy price of around 95gp for copper and 24gp for tin, you can't go wrong.
