jagex has officially told the public that they are going to be reducing random events now due to the update. They will be reducing them on a pretty large scale from what the article has said. Anyways just wanted everyone to know. I am very pleased to hear it :D

they will be reducing the ones srl can solve, witch means only un solvables are left. not good…

while i believe that most unsolvables will be left, some solvables will be there but there will be MANY very, very human-only-solvable randoms added, which also means that i very strongly believe that, contrary to what most believe, jagex does not fear SCAR, they see it as an opponent, and as an opponent, i believe both that they have versions of scar and at least somewhat knowledgeable scripters testing their randoms. as far as the theme of these new randoms, i'm sure they will include some form of fast WoW-like color changing as that seems like would destroy the effectiveness of scar.

Random events:

We had planned some work on the random events of RuneScape quite some time ago. We were looking to see if we could remove most of them, because a decent number were not particularly good at stopping modern-day bots. Since the threat of bots and macros has been largely removed, we feel that this is a perfect opportunity to address the problem again. For the moment, we are concentrating on our PvP minigames to compensate for the Wilderness changes, but the random event proposal has been approved and is in the pipeline.

Lol. It can't be a trap cause Jagex wouldn't have let it out to the public like that. But good find. I didn't even know about that. o.O

This means that there will be more unsolvable randoms. WHICH = BAD!

If there are harder randoms, then we'll have to think harder to solve them … I don't know why they say there are NO cheats for runescape when they put on their FRONTPAGE : AUTOERS woot woot woot :spongebob:

i think this could go either way.
if they reduce the randoms SRL can solve and only have the ones left that SRL cant

wouldnt that mean it would just bomb SRL with the ones SRL cant solve and us be stuck?

I am really indifferent, since the only macroing i do is in non-random places like pc or fightcaves

Don't be afraid of p1nky… He meant that it is a bit funny since in the message of the week and security dungeon etc. they say that "Do not download programs that help you play RuneScape, they might steal your password!", but in the news they talk about bots, but he missed the fact that they've did not try to hide that bots exist, so, the irony he wanted to express failed because Jagex did not say "Go on and download SMART, it's safe" + screenshot of virus checker reports. After release of SMART to the public, they said do not download, before that, they said that there is nowhere to download. Though the Security Cave doors think that the answer is "Nowhere" to the "Where can I download…".

who is we?

He tries to talk in the sport team coach way, you know what I mean?

Well, it's about time! Random events are a good idea, and all, but it's kind of easy to circumvent them, no real point anymore.

Yes the point of "reducing" random events is to remove the ones that are easy to solve so now instead of one box for every Mourdaut well just get two Mourdauts YAY!

So, it would just keep the ones they think can't be circumvented by programs. How would they figure that one out, since srl keeps evolving?

I agree, Jagex removing some randoms might seem like a good thing for us, but in the long run it will just screw us over because the more solvable randoms they get rid of, the more room they have for unsolvable ones. Also, chances are Jagex DOES have versions of Scar and I'm sure they know what they're dealing with. We just have to keep up :)

what i would realy like is for jagex to remove all randoms and just give up on trying to stop macroing
then we wont have to make sure all scripts are undetectable
but then the downside the amount of bots will boom

Yeah that would be nice! :) But the game would get all messed up with the thousands of autoers appearing out of no where. :duh:
