May I request the specs of your PC? I'm thinking they may be bad to the point that it can't handle SMART, thus crashes as there isn't enough CPU power to run both SMART and vital windows stuffs.

As a stab in the dark with the little information you have given, i would say it's possible your machine is overheating.
Open up the case and have a look at the heatsink and fan over your cpu.. odds are it's full of dust and all airflow is blocked.. if it's a ntebook make sure there is airflow underneath it and you are not blocking any of the vents.

Actually, overheating would most likely give him very varied times before shutdowns and also they normally end up with the 'blue screen of death'.

depends on the motherboard and bios etc..
If the bios has been set correctly the the pc should shut down before the cpu becomes critical .
Quite often a machine will beep to indicate overheating and throttle the cpu before shutting down, but also wuite often the load/heat ratio is such that this is skipped due to time constraints..
A processor is actually very predictable as far as heat/load goes. If SCAR is putting a constant amount of strain on the cpu with the script he's trying to run, then i would expect shutdown to be fairly constant. (Plus when someone says 2 mins they very rarely mean they have measured it and it's a constant 2 mins!)
Granted bluescreens can also be an indication of overheating but they are also an indication of a lot of other things and are not the only sysmpton of overheating..

Who said motherboard? Built-in graphics cards are extremely prone to overheating (I hated my Intel one - NVidia ftw!). Also, if it shutdown the one time due to overheating, he would probably turn in it on again and start it up, which would mean the next time it happened it *should* happen much sooner. Anyway, I'd say it would be best to wait for specs first anyway (and best way to check if it's overheating is on restart, go to the setup options as it has a core temp etc. in there somewhere).

I said motherboard and the first message I said cpu not gpu.. cpu & gpu temperature changes happen very very quickly it is not a gradual process.
this is not a gpu problem and is probably not a cpu overheating problem but it could be.
