Yes it was, as some of you might have noticed,
at least, SRL was down for quite some people, so I presume it was to all of you.
I have yet to come up with an explanation. The next thing I shall try to do, is contact Dankness, again.
If this was some sort of Denial Of Service Attack, we will soon find out.
As you might have understood, it is plausible that SRL might be down for some more time.
May it be due to server/provider problems, or random Denial of Service attacks, which are total groundless to SRL,
as we have never intervened with 'wars' among other sites.
Thank you for reading this,

Thank you for posting this.
I made a log of the DDOS times anyways :)
All times are E.S.T.:
1:00 PM - SRL-Forums DDOSed.
1:13 PM - SRL Back.
3:06 PM - SRL DDOSed again.
6:51 PM - Works again!
By the way, unless I am just a noob and don't understand Sp0rk-eh's sarcasm, he did the DDOS attacks.

Perhaps, we will find out soon enough.
Meanwhile, let's just make sure this thread doesn't anger any members on this forum. :)

Lol, DoSing SRL would be like punching my mother in the face.
Not something I'm willing to do for no good reason.
Wasn't me.

If it WAS a DDoS, and the source of it was found, would somebody take legal action?

If you ping SRL while it was down, it pinged back.
(I am not a web guy, but if the server's power was out, won't it not ping back?)

(I didn't ping it cause I didn't know it was down)but no, it probably wouldn't.

I doubt it was a DDoS, Probably DoS. And, yes, you could definitely take legal action. The maximum penalty is jail I believe.

Probably sue for downtime and lost revenue from ads, possible donations, etc. Get some money to help out Dankness w/ the server

A simple DoS can bring a whole server down?

Ya i had to not let the SRL stats connect because it would lag my scripts and make them just quit.

Yes. With the right tools/connection. I used to take sites down on my 512kb/s connection.

You can take down a site with a simple packet… IIS is specially vulnerable to any sort of attack.
Ice hawk this was solved, why the needto talk about it;?

Isn't packet illegal?
You can't do anything without packets…
That is how you access the Internet and any other networked resource.. constant sending and receiving packets. Now Packet Sniffing, also known as APR Cache Poisoning to gain personal information is illegal.

If you're on a laptop and click on your wireless connection, it displays how many packets you have sent and received. So they are not illegal.

It can't be illegal, if it's illegal then the Internet is illegal, networks are illegal. Everything electronic that communicates to another electronic device is illegal…
