Ok, First of all no motherboard out there will hold 16 gigs of ram lol, You can not add slots to a motherboard. How would you expect to do that, solder them in. Ya righttttt. Finally, no you can not add more processors lol! You can change them out usually to a faster one within your existing socket, But thats about it. Now some motherboards have the availability to have the slots but the manufacture (to save costs) does not solder the socket in, Like an Pci-E slot or an AGP slot. You can clearly see there is space for the socket, but its just not there. Im sure if you had a few grand in the best soldering equipment you could suck out each solder point and "add a slot" but its not worth it. With your knowledge i would just recommend buying some pc package, Or calling up the manufacture and finding out the specs and upgrade ability of the machine.

How do you know what his knowledge is? Anyway, 16 gigs is nothing when you think about the supercomputers out there. Adding aditional RAM slots and processors is possible, but unless you are extremely familiar with building pc's and the way the manufacturer of your pc makes them. I recommend you don't even think about it and buy a better computer instead. Anyway, 8 gigs is more than enough ram for just about any game/program and unless games are running slowly, then you shouldn't need to add another processor/upgrade your existing one.

There is a ram limit on computers.

I think for my computer(FREAKIN OLD)its like 3.X gb…

4 gigs of RAM total is plenty, a 2.0 gHz duel core AMD works fine for me, with moderate gaming…but I got it oc'd to 2.25…anyway, 4 gigs RAM is enough, make sure you have a decent video card tho…..
I'm not sure of the website posting rules here….but I would suggest www.newegg.com
I buy all my computer parts from there, and have built about 10 from scratch with it, its not too hard…but would recommend some experience, It is really easy to upgrade RAM tho

and @ chrisx….ALOT of mobo's support 16 gigs ram…it is just impractical….you just need four 4-gig sticks, but the mobo has to support it, which is also more expensive.

Mobos might support 16 gigs of RAM but im betting you OS does not, Most likely you have a 32 bit operating system which supports anywhere from 2-4 gig of RAM, to use as much as 16gigs of RAM (Which is overkill) you'll need a 64 bit OS.

4 gigs of ram , assuming it's a good speed is enough for the best of the best
games and programs.

Thank you that is good information, I will keep that in mind for my other computer ;) lol
