Yeh they do , I know a girl…she was pretty much normal , then suddenly she started thinking weird stuff… she became emo , and well…you know emo's have quite stupid way of thinking…and now she is totally different to what she was before… it makes me kind of sad to see that kind of things happen because you start to miss the old person she was …it also has happened with most of my friends…so well…im very sure they do change…:(

other word for emo? gothic?

MM no I totally disagree with that…. Gothic is something much deeper and different from Emo…. I hate that Emos try to look gothic…its so stupid…I really hate emos, and totally disagree with their thinking's , and they try to make gothic look gay… I'm not gothic, I would love to be one…but I still have a lot to learn so im able to say yes im gothic , since its not just to say …-Im gothic oo, im an emo , I cut my veins…-…Stupid emos… Gothic! means a lot , needs a lot of Knowledge to be gothic, not just dressing as gothic makes you one… I hate those kids that say they are gothic just to show off…im like wtf? but oh well someday they'll hopefully realise their stupidness…Gothic is to find the beauty on the gross.. Emo is…"to be EMOtional??" sounds like a real stupid not deep thinking idea…EMOtional = Guys that try to show off and take te attention of people trying to make people feel shame of them…. Well some of you might not agree with what Im saying but thats how I feel about Emo and gothic, And kind of offends me with people relate emo with gothic…just because emos try to dress gothic….Well there could be a Emo that does know a lot of gothic…But most of emos are just to show off…

hehehe long quote…sorry :p thanks if you were able to read it and not get bored :D

Ofcourse people do…

Did you change since you were born?

People change and stay the same in different ways. Our want to conform with each other - whether it's to laugh at a joke you don't get or you listen to music you don't like, you're still conforming - and this leads us to 'change' ourselves on the outside. However, we all set our own morales that influences how far we adjust ourselves. I, personally, will never change the clothes I wear or the music I listen to so I have something to talk about with my friends etc. but I will laugh at a joke I odn't get if other people are laughing. It's just a part of the contraversial brain that is ours.
Also, I think emo's really are mainly people who have emo friends and want to fit in with them and with the 'key' emo's being those who got neglected or hurt badly and started getting depressed and moaned about life with other people. However, just remember that there's a difference between Style and Emo's - just because they dress emo, doesn't mean they are. I have quite a few friends who just dress like emo's because they like the way it looks but are still very upbeat, happy people and lsiten to R&B or rock and not just people screaming about how they want to kill themselves…

People do and dont.

Depends on their preferences. Peadophiles and Perverts, Murderers and Rapists, they dont change, thats their sexual preference.

If you are bought up to believe something is the normal (Beating people up, swearing, taking drugs, etc) then you think thats true in later life.

Fashion amd music taste isnt really changing as a person, its just following the crowd and changing opinions.

@"Last edited by Wizzup? : Today at 03:06 PM." Lol, Ray probably said something bad :p

IMO they sometimes change, sometimes they don't. For example… I was a spammer like 1 day ago; toned it down a bit :p
(Ok, bad example….)

well…I think change can happen, but no one decides to change, it takes a long time, and gradual changes. But for the most part I feel that they don't change nearly enough/fast enough.

There is always at least one thing in a person's life that will change them.

I think all the people that posted in this thread misunderstood the question. I'm pretty sure that Negaal was referring to philosophy when he made this thread. Socrates, and his student Plato had different views on the fact whether everything 'flowed' or not. Was everything always the same or did everything always change?

The one that believed that everything was the same based his idea around 'atoms'…they come together to form an object and when they break away from each other, they form another object. The 'same' atoms are still being used, but a different object has been formed. I think this is what Negaal meant by 'Do people change'.

If not, then please excuse me for writing 2 useless paragraphs.

People change but rarely for the better or the way you want..

Just look at any relationship.. starts off all lovely dovey.. willing to please the other half and do what it takes to keep them.. After time depending on which side you are, one become dominant, lazy, comfortable the other can become hyperactive, subservient & obedient. Neither party was like that before, but it happens. once you are in the rut it's hard to come back out but when push comes to shove if it matters you change……….

Well you can change normally if you want too i really dont know which to vote for.. Some people change others dont i mean were all diffrent so its hard to differ on which to pick >|.|<

People do change, but they usually only change for the worst. They truly change for good if they really try hard, but that is rare. Also, people who do change for the good will sometimes revert back to their original mindset. Still, change isn't impossible.

I hope you change, because you're pretty damn irritating, and I can tell you ALOT of other people think that too, even if they might not say it.. And spamming is againts the rules so you should get banned for purposely doing it.

But back to the main topid… I think some people can change if they want to, but some people just want to be assholes forever.

Thats what I mean't.

After getting replyed like JuKKa or R0b0t1 did, I want to say that I just wanted to hear your opinions.

Have thought about this several times.

And Santy, sorry that you had wrote 2 paragraph for nothing, I didn't meant that.

i think they do after they make the decision to change. and it takes a while for change, it doesn't work overnight.

Well, I guess some people change little bits, just not many can completely change they way they live life. Example of a person who failed to change: exppo

my opinion is that people may APPEAR to change but they really dont, i admit some seem like they do but it always comes back. I have known many people to be like this but it always seems to come back

alright, well, I'm in a college psychology class, and I came across this study, here's the correlation graph:
the decimal numbers are the correlation coefficients…and 1 is perfect…also impossible :p
but it shows that younger people are far more likely to change. This is a widespread survey over many years using the same people, involved over 50,000 people
I hope this helps with your learning-ness :p (yes I can make up words:p)

EDIT:
I guess it'd help if you knew what it was graphing….lol
It measure personality stability…so the higher the coefficient, the less likely their personality is likely to change :)
