Reason for appeal (supplied at time of appeal):
I was just playing around with my friends. I am still very unclear why and ho
w this is encouraging others to break rules. I was not trying to get anyone i
n trouble at all.
Explanation of why appeal was denied:

Thank you for your appeal.

We are sorry to inform you that this appeal has been denied.

We have conclusive evidence that you were in control of the account at the time of the offence and, for this reason, this offence will remain on your account.

We suggest you take some time to remind yourself of the Rules of Conduct before you start playing again!

Jagex Customer Support

i showed off that i got 40 mil from quitting mil before balanced trades happen, alll i did was bragging, and the jagex thought i was encourage others to break rule, and they believe my letter said i wasnt in control of acc

I got 10 day ban for it
i think the reply system is automated like it reporting system

…
You think? It is. How could you imagine jagex workers reading peoples letter?
Bah.
It's just automated. Like if it finds word "friend" it may reply with denid and "you were control of account'" blahblah.

I know that they will read only last chance appeals.

no, it pretty much always says you were in conrtol of the account. actually..i think it says that whole letter for every appeal that is denied..it has on every one i've been denied.

…dumb macroers..having computers doing their work for them -.-

Banning macros with macros…

Their macro program is probably out of date. imagine everyone macros, all get banned, runescape starts from scratch, and to any jagex people reading these forms, you suck, try to fix these problems

OFFTOPIC: im back, finally, and i love Guitar Hero III and KyleXY

From what I understand, no matter what you appeal with you get the same response about you being in control of your account. Doesn't matter what you write.

I have some theories as to HOW exactly jagex thinks you're lying or telling the truth. I think the number of "!!!!!" or caps determine wether or not its true, they expect all the little kids to be like like " OMFGG YOU BANNED ME I DIDNT DO IT IMA CRY!!!!!" to be an honest response, instead of a calm, thought out letter by someone who had time to think about it.

Just a theory tho

wow…I really doubt that crunk…
I like the suicide threats, those ones make me laugh :)

Yup. Put suicide in it anywhere.

You could probaly just write "Suicide" as your appeal and youd get your account back.

Actually, there have been people who did that and it didn't work. Instead they got back a message about how they should seek counseling.

Nicely said….that fagex workers dont take the time to read any of that stuff….well…this kind of works it did once for me…. you say that you weren't controlling the account, that you were hacked , and they might lock it , then you say that you are the real owner of the account , and you tell them the Ip of the pc where you created the acc…. I dont guarantee anything but it worked once for me….and also for a friends acc which I could get back from a bannage…:p :D I hope this works for you also , if it does pm me so I can see if it does work…hehehe ;) :p

hah thats great!

I read somewhere in a thread similar to this that the funnier your appeal is the better chance you have of getting the ban lifted…

one appeal i read that was accepted consisted of the repeating of the words "FUCK YOU, YOU SUCK" over and over with many caps and exclamation points.

lmao :D

Oh yeah, I remember that thread. But if that rule applied I surely would have gotten the appeal accepted that said "Why are they black marks? Why can't they be white marks? I'm very offended being a man of color myself"

Nah, since you didn't threaten to sue them :P
Of course, there are people who threaten to sue and get denied. All this makes me wonder if appeals are just random in their entirety.

When one of my accounts was caught for macroing, I decided to have some fun. I told them I had carpal tunnel or something like that….

Then I went on to threaten legal action against them since they failed to provide me handicapped access to the game and how it breached the Helping Hand Laws of 1970's or something along those lines, I think I mentioned suicide to…

It worked on that account, appealed, when another account was caught I tried something very similar, it was denied…

To me it all seems very random. Just some right combination of key words will get your appeal accepted, somebody should really try an in-depth study to find what works.

i would think appeals have to do with previous histories.

like a level 3 account that just was made a week ago caught macroing would have a far less chance of an account that was made 4 years ago and has no history that got caught
