Well I remember some months ago, someone asked is there a "map hack", and Sp0rky posted a pic of rs with like… flying an airplane view, so could that be possible with SMART?

There is the framerate bar, so there could be some kind of viewdistance bar too that you can zoom in and out with :)

It would require extensive (detectable) modding of the client.

Hmm, thinking of it, I think sp0rky said that the guy who made it got banned using it if I'm not mistaken, but hey, can't know, most of the time there is a way around everything :rolleyes:

Here's some of what Ben has told me:

The terrain is given to the client in 100x100 tile 'blocks', so to get the entire map at once, you have to make the client request all of the 'blocks' at once; this normally happens every few minutes, when a user moves into another block - to request them all at once, though, is to ask for a very, very quick ban. Other than that, it doesn't sound too hard, just gotta mess with the camera position values.

find the fields i call cameraX, cameraY, cameraZ, cameraPitch and cameraYaw, change their values around, you might get a similar effect.
if you connect them up to a slider bar widget component, you might get this "viewdistance bar" you've talked about.

I'v heard in a program called MoparScape Revolution, you could lock the camera onto your characters head, so runescape became like a first-person shooter with this kind of thing

Hey - there is no downloady linky?

i posted the program on mopar's forums, they are more to do with client hacking over there

as for detectability, i made it all fairly undetectable, but didnt try too hard, they might notice if you are screwing with the camera, making it go where it shouldnt

i would trust my autoing characters on this, but on the other hand, i only made it today, they didnt have time to ban me yet, so keep it a crap account to be on the safe side

But there isn't a link to the program in the CameraMan thread at Mopar? Or am I just stupid?
