Hey guys, JAD is a scammer, and will probably have a comeback to this post… well I payed him 50$ to teach me full SRL/SCAR knowledge. He agreed and said I would have to pay him first, so I did because people said he was trusted… (Do not flame me, I am fully aware there are tutorials, but no-one can argue that a teacher is much better than a tutorial.) That first night after I payed him, he taught me for about an hour, then said (Look at image)

Ok, this is all fine I said to myself, and the next day he was on for about an hour and said he'd be back in 2 hours, he didn't log in for 9 hours after that. So when he DID log in, he said he had a bad storm and would teach me the next day, that was 3 days ago. And no lessons have been taught… And Pinky can back me up that he has NOT been on for like 3 days straight. Can the admins here do anything about it? Like tell him to give me my money back, or something will happen? I doubt you guys want a scammer here.

Some person cannot teach you more than what is to be taught, even JAD is a good scripter it's not like he would take you to some SCAR Dojo in some place behind god's back in Japan and teach you… "Miyagi code"?


Don't get offended by my post, but you really should be a lot more careful than that in the internet.


$10 is 20% of $50 which you lost, so, if when you would've do NetStat -n to command line when you were in that MSN convo, you could've grab his IP, go track it for the $10 and go kick the guy's butt or so…

What if there are really bad weather conditions atm where he is, or a long internet downtime?

I am not against you, but I have none JAD for a long long time, we joined around the same time, he did teach me A LONG time ago, if you have noticed talked to someone who has been on the forum a lot recently and has newer scripts out that are up to date that can teach you new things… Don't ever pay someone you don't know over the internet trust me, its like dealing with sythe…

Counting in all what he has done for SRL, meaning even by being active and making a lot of useful posts themselves, there is really no reason for him to do a pathetic $50 scam like that.

Though it is possible that he has some real-life problem that he needed some cash for.

Nothing wrong with Sythe the dude, it's just that his forums have got a lot of scammers, because of the market section.

Lol I have known JAD since he was joining and still posting up some starter scripts… I was a member with him when UBP (uber brothers productions) was around a long time ago, he was the reason I got junior membership too :)

but yeh sythe has IP banned me mutiple times too lol (recently unbanned again yey) but now there will be a bit more poor IRL money scammers too

EDIT: Ok guys… I looked here on SRL, and the last day he was on, was on 3-02-08… I will give him the benefit of the doubt for NOW (even though this seems like a typical scam case) until a few days or so.. Also does anyone know where JAD lives.. like what state

Now I just want to know though, why give someone 50$ to teach you something? Couldn't you just ask? He actually told me not to get into scripting when I came back to SRL recently lol… So I have been reading tutorials patiently with some trial and error, I doubt it you will get your 50$ back even if he does teach you, you still don't get your money back, you can't confront him for your fault, he, nor anyone would, give you your money back. Listen I have had I pod, phones, and bikes stolen… I don't think anyone would give it back now would they if its nice… Its my fault for being silly, so its your fault and be responsible for your actions. I know I am not your mother, but I am telling you the truth, things like this are going to happen, don't raise the price for a skill that wont make any use to you any where lol… I am not taking sides just telling you that going to have to give up, either stole it or not, your still not getting 50$ nor 50$ worth of teaching.

Not everyone can be on the internet 24/7 trying to teach you. For me I have been Extremely busy the past few months just with life's problems. I know that JAD has been away for the "Free" scripting for awhile now, and might need to refresh himself on some topics. Be patient, you will eventually learn, the world doesn't revolve around you even though you spent fifty dollars to some guy you meet on the internet.

:p hilarious. You just called the fellow a thief without discreetly contacting someone on the staff here and asking for their help. This could have been done in a way that:

a. doesn't make you look like a complete arse if you are wrong

and

b. doesn't make JAD look like a thief if you are wrong

Because if you are wrong .. you are going to look like a complete arse and he is still going to have to deal with the fact that you called him a thief .. even if he didn't steal anything.

Okay, not trying to insult you here, but what the f***? Why would you pay anyone 50$ to teach you something which many people would do completely free!?!?! And obviously, if ya think about it, it takes about 10-12 hours (on average) to really understand SRL, if you had no programming experience before. so that would make it less than 5$ an hour. Do you seriously think that someone would coordinate their scheduel after you for less than 5$ an hour?!? I earn 7$ per hour helping an elementary kid with math and english (living in germany, so just in case you are wondering why english), which is definatly more fun than teaching someone on msn. Dude, there is one lesson which you yet have to learn: don't completely trust anyone!!! You play(ed) runescape, right? if ya started before the trade limit, then you should know that basic rule. People are lazy, and not trustworthy (generalizing here), so ou should have payed a max of 20$ up front, and a bit of the rest after each lesson. Take some time to study human behaviour before learning a computer's behaviour.

But, by the way: i don't believe JAD is a scammer, I don't know him all too well, but he seems to be a nice guy, always ready for some humor, but with a good deal of knowledge when it is needed. :)

JAD isn't very active anymore, yet rarely logs onto MSN. You should have just asked hom for free, or paid him 50/50.

relax, if you sent money over the internet its VERY easy for the bank to track, you can also press charges on him and sue him if you wanna take it that far.

Are you serious? Press charges over FIFTY bucks? They tell you sorry theres nothing we could do about it, if you get scammed 1000 bucks.

This stuff is bothering me. One of JAD's scripts is the entire reason I started scripting, and recently there have been so many bad things that he "Did". I like JAD way to much to believe he did anything like this. I don't care if he says that he scammed you on a video while holding 4 forms of government issued ID. He's to nice of a person to do anything like this.

wow that's is inturesting i know jad, he's a smart and cool guy, and respected scripter here, and yes as n3ss3s said he's not online alot, but i really furrowed my brow when i saw this post, im sorry but i trust jad more that he wouldn't scam then i trust you for just causing trouble, but if he really does steal it with out teaching you untill satisfyed he'll be shunned and ip banned from SRL. im sure of that.

I would like everyone to note that JAD has yet to voice his stance on this issue. Instead, people from the entire community have voiced their opinions backing JAD and his worth as a community member (not to mention that you attempt at greatness was flawed to say the least). It would be in your best interest to leave SRL for several months, and, on your return, learn to script by reading tuts (like everyone else does), not paying full members money and then complaining when they have a real life.

Srry for the rant, but I respect JAD way more then I currently trust you.

honestly, if i was you id just file one of those claims to get your money back from paypal. say that the seller didnt send the goods you payed for, or something…suprises me that a respected member would even accept cash to teach you, besides there are plenty of people here willing to teach for free.

I've never liked JAD but dunno if he'd do this.. Or maybe it felt like a nice idea to teach for 50$ but he got tired to teaching and decided to keep the 50$ and lie, which is too easy on the internet.

Now just to wait for all people who've read JAD's tuts to protect him and JAD's 2000 line long boring explanation and story.

Sorry guys… Finals with school (end of quarter). Haven't been on the computer in a while.

But nyways, here's the facts.

-I was sitting on my computer chatting with people on msn and scripting when JoeyFeduka added me and messaged me asking me to teach him to script for 50$.

-It's not against the rules to make money teaching people to SCAR script outside of the forums from what I know. It's against the rules to sell stuff on the forums and advertise and stuff, but many great scripters here have bought/sold runescape gold and/or SCAR scripts for real life money or runescape money elsewhere.

-I didn't really read much of this topic because I have a ton of homework and stuff and I'm really busy.

-I taught JoeyFeduka many things about SCAR/SRL on msn, he learned a lot on his own, I helped him with a lot of questions he had, and the deal was that I'd teach him the things it takes to get into srl members, and whenever I was on msn I could answer any questions he asked me.

-once again, I wasn't even advertising this, JoeyFeduka (from what I know) added p1nky to ask if I was trusted or something, and then added me offering me 50$, which I took in exchange for the knowledge specified, and I fulfilled teaching him the knowledge specified.

-I'm sorry if you feel ripped off in any way, but you came to me, you gave me 50$, I spent hours teaching you about SCAR scripting, I taught you what I said I would + more, and I fulfilled the deal.


Anyways, to sum it all up, we made a deal on what I'd teach him for 50$, I fulfilled that deal, and now he may be having regrets making the deal. Not my fault, I didn't break the forum rules (from what I know), and nothing illegal, deceiving or tricky was done here, and I thought everything went smooth.

Sorry for any inconvenience and I'll be checking up on this thread for future posts if anybody has anything to add.

And please don't post anything quoting me if you didn't even finish reading my post…

Edit: and by the way, I didn't force joey in any way into thinking he needed a teacher to learn scripting. As stated above, he IM'd me without any type of contact before that time, and asked me to teach him for 50$, so we made a deal, and I said okay.

Before answering your question, I did read a little more of the thread and thought I'd say something in regards to some posts.

I didn't know it was a bad thing to accept 50$ for teaching somebody to script when even p1nky had advised him otherwise before me and JoeyFeduka even came in contact. I've been saving for a computer, somebody offered me 50$ for my time (which I probably spent about or over 10 hours of that time…).

I don't think this makes me a bad person, a scammer, or anything.

But
@CanadaMan, the deal was that in exchange for 50$, I would teach JoeyFeduka the basics of SCAR scripting and srl, and I would teach him the things, and give him the knowledge, to be able to make a script to become a srl member. I think Joey is regretting what happened and is looking for somebody to blaim, which would be me because I'm the one he gave the money to.


EDIT: And to the people saying "I don't believe JAD would do this" and "JAD wouldn't do this, he's not a scammer", there's a difference between Scamming and Exchanging. We made a deal to exchange knowledge/time to teach that knowledge for cash. You can't get mad if you think you made a bad exchange and then call it a scam.

It's not greediness either… It's being offered 50 dollars for my time and knowledge and accepting. Teachers at school do it all the time, although you could probably learn english/math/science…etc. online by yourself without paying anyone (even though we'd have to pay with taxes for teachers any way… But you get what I mean).

P1nky can witness that he came to me anyways.


And to clear that Lord_Killer thing up RAM, Lord_Killler is me. That's (partially) my runescape name and I hated it and made this account after being on that one only a few weeks. I had told Boreas about it a while though.
