well, this has happened to me twice now, so i dont think its a fluke by any means, in fact, it has happened to me both times ive done this, so far its consistent. Anyway, what I'm talking about is the "mysterious box"!!!!!!!!!!!!
GASP!!!! :O yeah, its scary stuff, well not really, but let me share my story anyway. Alright, so I'm duel logged in…on the same world, just using the regular old RS windows client, and I'm trading items between accounts, the old fashioned way…and yes, its really slow, im trading feathers, and it take forever, so im just killing chickens to kill time, and then….BOOM!!!! both characters get the mysterious box random at the exact same time!!! :eek: its crazy!!! and its happened twice. this probably isnt too important, might already be known. I just thought I should throw it out into the knowledge base if it isn't well known…..yup

Well I gotta say that face to face trading isn't safe at all, I'm sure that receive those randoms was no coincidence. Where you using an unsigned applet or one of the "safe" techniques?

Happen to me and my friend before both. We got drill though. My 2nd of the day :p.

yeah well it happened twice, once like last week and once today, and I know that trading face to face is unsafe, especially on the same comp :p but they are noob accounts and I dont care what happens to them, I dont know what the unsigned and stuff thing is…I was just using the Jagex RS windows client, that you get from the website :p and running two macros….lol, anyway, I highly doubt it was a coincidence because it happened twice, a week apart, and on four different accounts, and it happens at the EXACT same time, everyone else there was amazed too, they were like…"howd you guys get it at the same time?" and stuff like that :p i dunno

well sense your playing both account, they act the same and have the same activity, so oyu might have just gotten a random at the same time because randoms aren't random, they have fixed ways of apearing.

nope, lemme think…they are all over lvl 30….I don't so that lvl 3 crap, I level up the combat as soon as I make them, I just call them my noobs because they aren't my main :p It happened to the two guys on the same world (ie trading) but not the two macros I was running in smart at the time

Maybe jagex sends the random not to an account, but to an IP Address?

Well doing the same thing causes same randoms if done at the same time.

That's what I was thinking…We'll have to do some tests on this..Lol…

Sorry for the gravedig but something very interesting just happened to.

I am boting on neXus right now, i have 3 people all on the willows, i have just noticed each time someone gets a box another person get a box to! They are all in different worlds but still in the same location.

maybe to all accounts running under the same Randomid.

Well jagex does seem to do Random spams, when wcing you will get a bunch of randoms at once and then no more for a while, excluding ents, and then BAM more old men. It is possible that both your characters were hit in this way, though is likely you are in trouble lol.
