Announcment: You may now start scripting!

I have come up with an idea, to have a competition of autoers. This will be like the battle of the bots, except, you will have to auto non-cb skills. The rules are these:

Your script will be graded using the Scripting Competition template.
Even if you win the autoer part of that skill, that doesn't mean you automatically win the scripting part. For the scripting part, you must make a new script to enter into the competition.

The skills are Smithing, Runecrafting, Crafting, Cooking.
In total you can win 3000 points. 1400 for the scripts that train those skills, 500 for both skills, 500 for the money, and 100 according to the place you came in. Instead of being the first, there will be a deadline. But, if you come in a recognizable place (1-5th) you will get extra points.

The points add up, the help decide who will win the competition. You will need to have the judges change your password so we can verify everything. The scripts are for the 2 skills you are trying to skill up by the deadline.

The deadline for the script is March 25th. This is also the time when you can start autoing.
The deadline for the character is March 25th. This is the final judgment day. Your script results will be posted around this time too.

I suggest player made scripts because we need more scripts for these sections. I and a few others will also judge the scripts too. Please, btw, can you release the scripts to the members section after the competition is finished. That is another reason for this competition is to create more working scripts for the members section.

heh i was actually thinking of running battle of the bots #2, but sure i'll give you a hand with this one. i can help you judge, how about we use the standards of judging from the SRL Scripting Competition?

also it would be good if everyone started with at least 20 cb, which is why in the BoB #1 everyone had to get their skills up.

so i suggest that to win you need to get to lvl 50 of one of those skills, lvl 20 in three combat skills and a special item that they have t have depending on their skill, to be sure we have some bankers ;)

i've already had some ideas before, later tday i'll pm you.

Okay, I'll put you up… Here's how I'm thinking of doing this:

In total you can win 3400 points. 700 for the script, 200 for combat, 500 for each skill, finally 500 for the money. Instead of being the first, there will be a deadline.

how about 100 points for being the first? or for example
1st - 50
2nd - 40
3rd - 30
4th - 20
5th - 10

and 50 for completing the task.

so it'll be out of 3500, which will make it simpler too.

I think I accidentally deleted that part, my bad, I meant to keep it in there. I have reasons for not picking other skills then smithing, crafting, runecrafting, and cooking. My reason is, that, we already have many scripts in those categories. I am trying to make the forum get more scripts where we need them from. We have lots of wcing and fishing scripts. That's why I don't use those other skills.

Hmmm… Even though I am quite bussy, I might fit this is somewhere, but here is a question: Do the levels or the xp count? because technically, an autor using a hybrid script is at a huge advantage, because the first levels are easiest to gain… (now, if the purpose of this is to get hybrid scripts released, then I can't compete, sorry)

Levels :D The purpose of this is to get more scripts released not hybrid ones…

tbh theres alot of scripts that are made for members section [its just no1 uses it]

thats why theres lack of member scripts :S
so they put it in srl junior members section

i think you should let the participants start coding. i mean you dnt know if they havent started :S so just let them start the coding and yeah.
or make this as rule:

dead line of script due. than start your charaters training.

cause , some scripts will be longer than others.

So just to confirm, we are not going for a skill goal. We are going to be the highest? And what about training legitly?

You can train half legitly. Don't level up your character! Right now, code and run your player through tut island. Results will be posted after grading done ect.

Ya I know not to train yet. But it's hard to test scripts :p. I'll just get base coding done.

Yeah, do that. The main goal of this is to not level your character, but to contribute to the members scripts section ;)

BTW are we trying to go for a skill level or just as high as we can get? And throughout your first post you keep saying "both skills" are we only supposed to train 2 of them?

Edit: Also, if the goal of this is more scripts for the members section. Wouldn't it be better to have the scripts due and the deadline at the same time? That would make it so we could test our scripts more extensively and make them the best possible.

Thanks for altering the rules. They are much more to the liking as well as being efficient for getting extremely good scripts into the members section.

The Final script and the account details must be sent in latest on the 25th of march. However if you reach lvl 50 on both skills, 20 cb and have 1mil in your bank before the due date post pictures of it in the thread and send your account details to one of the judges. You will still be able to improve your script until the 25th.

Sadly I must drop out. But only to not compete. I will still get my scripts out just not at the right time. My life is too bogged down right now to get the scripts done but I promise I will finish them and release them as this was the main goal of the competition.

I won't get it done on time but I'll get it done and release it.

Ah, alright, I'll participate, I actually got some free time on my hands, and I plan to use them to script. probably won't be the best script ever, because of teh time shortage, but who the heck cares? lol
