Last night i set up a script to run over night using smart and i awoke this morning to a message saying 'SCAR has encountered an error and needs to close.' My question is does being idle (screen saver) or shutting off your moniter effect anything, more specifically SMART?
Thanks,

(P.S now its running fine but it just happened once)

Shutting off your monitor does not affect your computer at all. Standby, however, would, I think, mess up SMART.

I think that when SMART was members only, someone said it doesn't affect SMART if you change user in windows.

I ditches SCAR 3.12 and now using 3.14… still crashes and i thought it was a perfectly stable release? It usually crashes when i leave it to run overnight, during the day its fine. Any suggestions?

The only thing I can think of is that the script you using has to many bitmaps/dtms not freed. We found out that was one cause of it.
