- Getting SCAR & Subversion -
Alright, welcome to my tutorial, during this tutorial, it will briefly explain how to setup SCAR and SRL. (Animated Photos, explained steps, links, and more!)

Ok first start off by downloading the latest version of scar, located here.
Next, you will want to get the latest version of Subversion, which will be the updater for SRL, as SRL is done through a SvN system.
Click here to download the Subversion MSI (installer).
If that's outdated, get the latest version from here Get a Stable Version.
Download and install Both SCAR and Subversion, you can keep all the settings of the installers the same.

- Setting up SCAR to get SRL from the main Subversion Rev -
First, make sure you've shut scar after you downloaded Subversion, re-open scar…
Click Tools…

Hit Options…

Hit SRL Download

Hit Subversion Respiratory…

Hit Check Out…

Hit Move Plugins…

Hit Ok…

Congratulations, you just downloaded SRL, and set-up SCAR!

- Updating SRL! -
To check if your SRL need updated, click File…

Now, if you see something like this, click it, and SRL will update.

- Setting some main SCAR settings -
Click Tools…

Hit Options…

Now, if you have a rather slow, or a computer with low ram, to reduce lag while scripting… Hit Code Hints…

Hit code hints it to False…

Now, make sure BOTH SCAR Fire Wall settings are set to Allow All…

Hit Ok…

Congratulations, you now have SCAR and SRL setup, your ready to Auto!!

any ideas for running your first script?
(the other parts, I did, just, any suggestion on what to explain?)

Make sure you tell them to read the directions posted on the thread of where the script was downloaded. Because a lot of scripts can be outdated, or might have specific rules, or anything else that they must follow.

^^ for setting up first script.

Also you can tell them about the threads that have things like "The best and most updated scripts" "Battal of the scripts" and w/e else there are. Cause those are helpful in finding the script you want.

Turning off Silent Mouse

Silent mouse was originally used in RSC so that you could auto and do other things on the computer at the same time. Unfortunately, Jagex caught on and so now Silent mouse has to be turned off for you to be able to auto. This means your mouse will be controlled by scar and you wont be able to do anything else whilst the script is running.
Silent Mouse is off by default, but you should check just in case.
In Scar, hit 'Tools' and make sure the first option 'Silent Mouse' is Unticked

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I followed this tutorial (just to get SMART), and whenever I use a script, scar closes out, and nothing happens. I can see it in the task manager, but it isn't doing anything, because I can still log into my accounts. Any help?

Very good guide. I didn't at first install the subversion or w/e so I could click the thing. But, very good I use this everytime I setting up SCAR on different comp :)

ffs getting this error when running the small script that stores password/username:

Include file C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.15\includes\SRL\SRL\Core\Bitmap.scar does not exist.
Include file C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.15\includes\SRL\SRL\Core\DTM.scar does not exist.

i do have subversion and i did install the newest SRL through SCAR, just like this guide said. im using SCAR Divi 3.15. support please, wish to learn ^^

There is a problem with your folder permissions.
If you are running Windows Vista, it's a problem with the actual operating system. You need to manually move the plugins from the Includes folder to the plugins folder.
If you are running Windows XP Professional, you can easily change the folder permissions.

Windows XP Professional
1. Right click on the SCAR 3.15 folder and select properties
2. Go to the "Security" tab of your folder.
3.a. If the group is already there, grant Full Access to the group.
3.b. If not, click the "Add…" button. Click "Advanced…", then "Find Now". Click "Everyone", then click "Ok" twice. Grant Full Access to the group.
4. Redownload SRL using subVersion and the plugins should automatically be moved. Future updates will also be easier.

Very nice guide. Everything is very well explained and easy to understand. However, I'm having problems with all my scripts and I thought maybe someone in this thread could help me. I keep getting errors like "Line 34: [Error] (34:1): Duplicate identifier '' in script C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.11\includes\SRL\SRL\Core\Globals.scar" and "Line 78: [Error] (12717:21): Syntax error in script C:\Program Files\SCAR 3.15\includes\SRL\SRL.scar". Any suggestions?

There is a problem with your folder permissions.

when i hit "properties" there is no security tab, there is "general" "sharing" and "customize"

i have scar dvi 3.15b and svn installed.

When i do everything as told, It shows update SRL SVN and such.

But whenever I turn on scar, a warning sign says "ordinal 2821 could not be located in dynamic link library" Anyone know what the prob is?

If i select regular download in option menu the sign doesn't pop up, it's only when i select subversion repository

I reinstalled scar and svn several times but same thing :( HELP!

yeah this might have helped but one huge Q: at the end it reads accese denied -_- so as you can see i still need help and then after i close it it reads couldnt move srl/plugins to plugins folder what i do now:confused:

No, nothing to be alarmed about… That 'trogen' is just the auto updater for SRL.

I followed your directions exactly. However, when I click "checkout" it says "Couldn't move plugins from the SRL folder to the plugins folder". What do you suggest I do next? And whenever I play the script it says "Failed when compiling." :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

you need to get srl correctly, try running scar as the administrator.

this tutorial is great! it helped me out so much to the extent of me not having admin privelages on my computer at the moment, so i cant install the lastes Scar or SRL, i have srl 16… im 4 revs behind, can somebody pm me with a link of the newests scar and srl rev 20 installed, this would help me alot thank you.

But. i am having problems with my SCAR and SRL and stuff.
Like i followed your tut and everything seemed to work fine, but whenever i try to run a script almost everytime, it says invalid number of parameters. and im guessing its something i did wrong to set it up cause it seemed like no one else had that problem. but ya it would be a REALLY big help if you could just tell me what i did wrong and what i can do to fix it.

Save That. Then Hit New Script.

Hi everyone, im new to SCAR and SRL i just started playing rs again, and honestly cant stand the boringness (if thats even a word :p ) so i decided to look for some bots. ive done alot of research on which is the best and everything seems to be pointing towards SCAR. So im going to try to learn and understand this as much as i can and eventually attempt to write a script of my own, but in the mean time, im having troubles with line 88 when you replace the SRL.scar, i have no clue how to change it to make it work. could anyone help me through this? and also how to add accounts.. i feel like a complete leecher, but im going to try to provide something in return in the future when i learn how to write scripts.

Hey great tut but I'm having some problems setting up the SmartSetupExp part. I keep getting syntax errors because I don't know exactly what to do its sort of unclear.

SMART is broken at the moment, due to RS updating the worlds, wait for an update for SMART.
Also, SRL is partially broken too although there is a temporary fix around the forums.

Thanks a lot! I was missing 2 files so i had to do this again. Oh and the first 1 is fire wall but the second 1 is actually filewall :D

What do we put into those things. Specifically "Safe Mode", "Signer", and "Super Detail". I get this error without anything in them:
