Definition of revision -

"the act or work of revising"

Definition of revise -

"to amend or alter"

Revise what?

If you're talking about like 'SRL 4 Revision 13' and such, you don't have to make that, that's the Devs' job ;)

To keep up-to-date with revisions read this tut - http://www.villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17929?t=19625&highlight=1.4.5

I think he is talking about making something like SRL, so it autoupdates through a rev.

Sadly I don't know, but the devs can help you.

Well from your question of how to 'make' a revision, all it is is that they make some extra/new functions and/or fix bugs. Is that what you're asking? If not then please state your question more clearly :p

He means to use SvN to make his own auto updater :p

and i notice in the varrock east miner that he says that it is for rev 14 is that out to members only or does he get an inside revision to prepare ahead

They're not editing Scar (that's Freddy1990's (the creator) job). They edit the SRL library. As for what they change, that varies. Say the update was that the Logout button moved from being a gametab to the corner of the screen. They would have to change the log out procedure so that instead of clicking the Gametab it logs out with the new button.

And sometimes they don't have to fix anything, they just release a revision with new features.

EDIT: When you say 'Jagex updates and all bots go offline' do you mean

1) They stop because it logs the character out and wants it to reload runescape

or

2) They stop because there is something different in-game and the autoers can't function properly

(Btw scar autoers are called autoers not bots, bots are what used to be RSDemon autoers and Ibot autoers, which aren't used much anymore)

for the sake of saving a little typing i use bot (since bot seems to me as the pc controlled character and the "autoer" sounds like the person "controlling" the bot) i mean they wont work when you go to turn them back on the following morning or when you get back from work. say i wanted to make my own revision. what do they devs look for when making the revision like a color change or something, obviously something about rs has changed to make the bot/auto stop working. for example the VEM it wont get the combat level for starters then it wont check to see if pick is equipped well it does but doesn't read it right then it will mine a load and stop on the road right before the bank (where pavement meets dirt)

I'm pretty confident that SVN uses Apache, so whenever the devs update scar and update it using an SVN Admin program, it gets sent to your SCAR…JMO…

Found this:
What Is cvs2svn?

cvs2svn is a Python script that converts a CVS repository into a Subversion or git repository. It is designed for one-time conversions, not for repeated synchronizations between CVS and the target source code management system.

Introduction

cvs2svn is a program that can be used to migrate a CVS repository to Subversion (otherwise known as "SVN"). The primary goal of cvs2svn is to migrate as much information as possible from your old CVS repository to your new Subversion or git repository.

Whenever the devs feel like it pretty much. :p or whenever something in rs is changed that breaks SRL, we update it ASAP and release after testing.
