SCAR keeps closing when using S.M.A.R.T.

OK so this is what i have at the start of my script:

{.include SRL/SRL/Misc/Smart.scar}
{.include SRL/SRL.scar}

And this is what i have in the main loop:

SmartSetup('jlv6', False, False);
SetTargetDC(SmartGetDC);
SetupSRL;

With this, everything works fine, but just for some time,
S.M.A.R.T. is working, but after the script has been running for some time SCAR just shuts down and i have no idea what the problem could be?

Another thing that is does is that it saves proggys as text files in my Scripts directory, what can i do to make that stop? SCAR seems to shut down after there are 11 proggys in there (0-10) or maybe that's just a coincidence.

Edit: Im using Hy71194's Fight Cave Runner, and i get a new txt file proggy after every run, is that meant to happen?

Edit(again): I fixed the proggy thingy, i just didnt see it in the setup, its 7 in the morning >.<

Are you using multiple SMARTS at the same time?

could be multiple things, like markus said if your running more than 1 SMART with the same scar cant you need multiple scars for multiple SMARTs, also make sure the include is in the same spot, the Smart.scar is in Misc folder, also make sure your prefix is correct could always use the SmartSetupEx(); function works better IMO

If your on vista you will need to run as admin for it to work properly and you need to make sure the firewall settings in scar are set to ALLOW ALL. If that doesn't work then Idk.

I get this problem to, i look at the CPU usage its like 100%.. and it always closes
after 5 minutes (running 1 SMART and nothing else) or so, Ill try the SmartSetupEx();, I really need to format my computer and i have a dual core AMD 2600+ or something.

Ill test on my bros computer he has an AMD 5600+ Dual Core, so ill see if it closes on that.

It could be the script..

That is the crash report I think.

Maybe you should try setting Scar process to higher priority. To do this hold Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Processes. Find Scar.exe and right click —> priority —-> high.
Hope it solves both of your problems:)

I've been getting this as well, though I think it's more to do with my old pc (3 years in July/June.. I think). It always crashes when I'm not looking (would be OK if I didn't have to sleep) so no idea what actually happens, but just seems to close without any explanation at all. I've been checking the CPU usage and it seems to peak at around 50% and just a little more after startup. I'm going to try uninstalling all my java's and installing them again to see if that helps, but not sure it will.

Latest java.
Run only 1 smart per scar.
Be sure you load smart in the same script you are going to use!

(Do not load smart, then switch scripts and play run.)

Updated my Java and left it running. Came back after 20 minutes or so and it had closed again :( I was only running 1 SMART, the SMART was loaded into the current script and launched with the running of it. Only other things I had running in the background was utorrent and an IE browser with a couple of tabs open (this forum and a game walkthrough/guide). When I checked before leaving, the CPU usage of scar was around 50 and occasionally peaked to 65-75 with it using around 100k of memory. It was set on above normal priority (have used with normal and it still closed).

Hope some of this info can help in any way.

Edit: After thinking about it, is it possible that the Java settings could in some way be causing the SMART to close, thus bringing down scar with it (same as when a browser crashes because of a webpage)?

Does smart gives you error logs?

Your using Vista?

I've got XP and I don't get any error logs, scar just closes completely as though I closed it (no 'scar encountered an unkown error' or anything like that, just closes)

Im using java 1.6, and no, i dont run multiple smarts. And im on WinXP Home SP2

The only error message is when i hit play, scar says "File access error", but after that SRL compiles normally and the script starts running.

I've now set the priority to "higher than normal", lets see if it works.

Didint notice before but scar takes up 75-100% CPU when using smart :o

Just added a text output procedure to write the times it runs, so shoul be able to get an accurate time of crashing. Also found a java report after going trhough a few files - might be from SMART crashing, but as there's only 1 and it has crashed a good few times I'm not 100% sure, but I'll attach it anyway (doesn't appear to have any personal info, but if you spot some, please tell me)
