SRL Archive - S.M.A.R.T. Tutorials

Hello Everybody for you all who don't know me i am strikerx25 here today to teach you how to run scar rev12 on your old laggy computer.

The world of runescape is updating new skills, quest etc but with the update of runescape scar srl is not far behind. This week srl #12 was released also with it S.M.A.R.T. Smart stands For scar minimizing autoing resource thing (kool name ja?) it has brought a whole new way of the way we cheat. Since now when we ran scar it has taken over our computer. Have you ever needed to look at something whilst scar was running but couldn't? well S.M.A.R.T has created a window within a window allowing us to do other stuff whilst cheating.

Pros: can look at youtube videos whilst cheating :garfield: also even allowing us to run 2 scars at the same time :f:

Cons: If you don't have the world greatest computer i.e. me scar and S.M.A.R.T tend to lag abit thus leading to logging out, script errors ect thats why i am here today to show you how to run S.M.A.R.T without lag on smart in a few steps:

Step 1:
Press Ctr+Alt+Del.

Step 2:
Windows task manager opens up click on the processes tab.

Step 3:
Find scar.

Step 4:
Right click on scar and go to set priority.

Step 5:
Click high and click ok on the warning message close Windows Task Manager.

There You have it the rest of your computer may be laggy but your Scar should be runnning just fine

I think here's a tut on how to do that to some other program already……

This will take [most of] the lag out of scar and SMART, but it will add lag to the rest of your computer.

Most people know about this, but good job anyways for spreading the word even more.

As a word of caution, yesterday I was trying out stuff and put it at Real-Time and it completly froze my comp (had to restart) but usually when I'm playing counter strike I put my vlc music player on "Above Normal" otherwise it will skip while I am playing counter strike. So really you don't need to set it THAT high.

Anywayz i can run 3 smarts on my computer with 1 gig of ram and that is running vista. No lag.

That's not true at all. I'm not gay, and I won't give out details :p but I choose not to do either.

Also nice job on the guide Strikerx25. My computer lags a lot when running scar for certain scripts, so this might help me a lot.

worked a little on my computer (4 years ++) but still lags much…

well your computer is 4 years old try going to your local computer shop and buying buying 1 gig of ram for about $30 it will make a difference on a really old computer

I know this will help but i cant set priorities, when i choose set priority to high, it says access denied, anyway of getting round this?? Rep + to whoever solves thx.

No getting around it as you don't have access to it, so unless you can get your account upgraded to admin, sorry and it's not so important anyway unless Smart is lagging to the point that the script returns false positives for being logged in.

DUDE! I TRIED THIS FOR RUNNING THE INTERNET EXPLORER- i can now run rs without lagging! sweet man, thanks for the tip, never knew about priority

Well, I'm new here in SRL…

I did it, and it worked, but not so much. When there is more than 5 people in the screen it's muchhhhhhhhhh laggy, and the script ( willow chopper in edgevillage) doesn't work because of the lag.

Is there any other way to stop the lag?
In my mother's PC it work well, and that's veryyyy old ( not soo much, but it's worse than mine). I tried to put the original windows skin, but it didn't work…

What can I do?

well dude if its that laggy then you might as well just not use smart

yeah, I figured this out myself, the computer uses more memory to run your program :D

There are still occasional lags that still happen in SMART though =/

Well my comp dont lag and SMART doesnt lag. However I did notice that if I put priority to high I can click enable/disable just a couple of times and start writing rather than a million times log out log in… :)
