Hah! Nobody believed me (Irl) when I said "Pffft, it's more like the Pats are the underdogs, Giants will beat them". And they came through XD
GO GIANTS! (They're not my favorite team but I like any team more than the Pats…)
I cant believe they pulled that out. Its good for Eli to get one.
I always root for underdogs, cause my dad does some bookkeeping and when underdogs wins i can con him into giving me money.

I still feel like shit after this game:
I cannot believe it. My parents being season-ticket holders and me just being a diehard Patriots fan, I am just shocked and very disappointed. I'm disappointed that we didn't go 19-0 and that Junior Seau didn't get his ring. I hope he comes back. I'm also very disappointed that the Patriots were so close to winning this. All they needed was to make one play, that sack where Eli got away from or intercept one pass and they would have won.
I also didn't agree w/ some of the officiating. That fumble on the handoff to Bradshaw, where Woods jumped on the ball first and Ahmad Bradshaw clearly took it out of his hands after the whistle had sounded. And the push off by Amani Toomer on Randall Gay I believe. Ugh, it was just…I'm never going to get over it.
Not to mention, I have always, and will always hate the Manning-p*ssies. Peyton just because of the rivalry, and Eli because he's a Manning and he didn't go to San Diego. He doesn't have any control over what team he should be playing for, but he acted like he did and whined about being on the Chargers and got traded to the Giants on draft-day.

You KNOW though, that once he got away from that sack he was going to make a beastly play, it couldn't have happened any other way ;D

The biggest upset in history.. giants defeat the pats at the super bowl. I could honestly feel this happening when i put down $200 on them for an event we did at work. I feel better though, i only spent my grocery cash. I'm sure I'll survive without food for a couple days.

I know, if you follow the Patriots every Sunday as intently as I have, you would have known it would be completed. Time and time again in big situations, 3rd down conversions or whatnot, they have just let us down in the same kind of thing. Either they have a hand on the QB and let him get away, only to throw a 30 yard pass. But this, this sack was as close as I've ever seen them get this year on one of those sack-getaways-completepass.

What a coincidence lol, I just read this on SI.com. Tbh the game had me glued to the seat the whole time.
No. 1, XLII (2008), Giants 17, Patriots 14. This was Rocky Balboa against Apollo Creed, when the champ was unbeatable. Greatest of all time, brayed the TV talking heads, that was this Patriot team. Parade planned, book ready to go to print about their unbeaten Super Bowl season and then they met someone tougher, at least on this one Sunday, someone who tore into the galley proofs and ripped up big chunks of copy.
There was brilliance on both sides of the ball on Super Sunday. My MVP vote would have gone to… sorry, Giant fans… the Patriots' Wes Welker. For a while it seemed as if he were the only weapon they had going for them. The Giants took a deep breath and won with their pass rush, a feat that at one time seemed impossible against such an impregnable fortress. There was suffering at the end of this game, too…. endurance, ability to keep going.
Unbelievable plays made by unlikely people. David Tyree, a fourth receiver, a special teamer, making one of the great catches in the history of the Super Bowl. I heard some people say, "Well it was dull for three quarters." Not for me it wasn't. Dull and low-scoring are not synonymous. Some of us find defense interesting, too. I like games in which nothing comes cheaply, in which everything is dearly won. I don't like those 41-38 airshows in which the ball just gets an airmail stamp.
And besides, I find that when contests with a lot riding on them start off dull, they invariably become thrilling at the end. The Steelers' Immaculate Reception game, for instance, was deadly dull for more than three quarters. Then all hell broke loose. Practically the entire fourth quarter of Giants-Patriots was played under excruciating pressure, right up to the time when Jay Alford broke through and nailed Brady for a 10-yard loss with 19 seconds left.
For me the game had everything, courage, incredible effort, sustained level of pressure by the Giant defense. Football doesn't get much better.

Wow finally…. a person who likes the pats. I was reading through this thread and you guys are all giants fans???? wtf??? You guys honestly like Peyton and Eli Manning? They are a bunch of 9 year old girls that cry when they lose.
Everyone seems to hate the pats for no reason whatsoever. The announcers and the refs piss me off so bad. Did none of you see how the refs were calling that game? We recovered a fumbled ball and what do they do? They Gave it to the giants…..Then the giants had the ball and threw it to a wide receiver that face masked a patriot a second before he caught the ball…. and what did the ref do? Nothing….All around the NFL is a bunch of bullshit and the pats deserved to go 19-0 because they had to fight through all the crap that people give them and the unfairness of the entire league.
I guess me and IEatJ00erBaybees are the only people that actually understand the game. While Eli and Peyton are making commercials about them eating oreo cookies, Tom Brady and the pats are focusing on the upcoming week.

the first 3 quarters were kinda boring since no one scored. i even turned to watch a different movie during those quarters. the only exciting part for me was the 4th. i thought pats had it clinched with their touchdown but manning got so lucky in the end with the drive to score again.

Lol, dude, you are the reason people hate New England.
Not only do we cheat, but we're arrogant, like the two parts that I highlighted. It's called Illegal Hands to the Face or Offensive Pass Interference, not Face Mask. A face mask is where the defense tries to tackle the offensive player with the ball by the face mask.
But hey, you and I are Bostonians, we're supposed to be arrogant. That's what Boston's all about.
