Anybody play it? Online especially?

If you don't know what it is….

Age of Empires is a series of video games developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft Games. Seven games have been released from the series, as well as three spin-offs.

The majority of games in the series focus on historical events. Age of Empires and The Rise of Rome, the first two games, focused on Europe and Asia Minor, with the expansion following the formation and glory of the Roman empire. The Age of Kings and The Conquerers centered around Europe in the Middle Ages, and the discoveries of South America and the New World. Age of Empires III and its first expansion, The WarChiefs, discussed the European colonization of the Americas, while the second expansion, The Asian Dynasties, also developed by Big Huge Games followed the rise of Asia.

You basically build an empire and then fight with your armies :)

So anybody play it?

I used to =/ I don't like them much anymore. Do you play Starcraft, or any of Blizzards, or maybe 'Westwoods'?

Nope :( I've never really tried many online games, just rs and AoE. Are those all free? I might check them out.

Which version do you play? I, II or III?

Its on okay game but the graphics are the worst ever I completed the game like 300 times. Once upon a time the graphics where good but that's cause you'd never seen anything any better.

That's the game i love. It is 1 of my favourite. :)

Well in my eyes this game is like!!WooooW!. I began with AOE1 Gold. I got it from my friend. I played it like alot. :) , and when i got AOE2 then i was in the heaven. :) and my brother got comp. too, so we played in LAN ;) Multi.
And when i finally got AOE3, i was totally out of my mind. :)

The pirated versions are, if you can find an idiot on eBay that posts snapshots of cd keys. Otherwise, nope. You can probably get starcraft for like…5 dollars now.

I used to play it alot especially in school in my ICM Class, Like 5 of us in class would go against eachother.

ICM = Introduction to Computer Mainance (We Never Did anything Cool Teacher!)

But I have it and might install again so we can have a little game :)

Played it a lot when I had P1 with 166Mhz processor, 32mb RAM, and 2MB of integred graphics:D

Now, there is much better games…heh:D
Too bad I can't play it on net, because my ports are closed

My 1GB RAM 3.0GHZ proccessor (idk what the graphics is…) can barely run AoE III with all the graphics set to the minimum.



Btw tbh I never opened any ports :\

i got all aoe and aom gold aom is better, i think, atlanteans own, i was never good at aoe 2 tho, so confusing and complex

Ever try AoE III?

This is how I rank them from worst to best…

1. AoE I
2. AoE I Gold
3. AoE II
4. AoE II Expansion (I forget what that was called…)
5. AoE III (never played the expansions)

yeah i used too play it too… i played aoeIII and Empire Earth… but i never could play them online cause my dad got them bootlegged… now they are just taking up space on my computer…. lol… along with one and a half gigs of music for the 70s-90s…

people should learn to play REAL games, Total Annihilation ftw!!!(or supreme commander if you must)

There's new ones. You can't use them online unless the game that you're playing is enabled (which in that case the game would be unrated and you wouldn't get any exp). I've never used the ones in AoE III :p

Theres probably like 100 people on these forums that have it, but nobody likes it anymore :p And really it's LOADS better than rs. Especially nowadays - AoE is getting better, RS is getting much worse.

I used to play Age of Empires 2, but after awhile they made it so you have to pay to play online for AoE2. I haven't bought number AoE3, the last game I got that was strategy was Age of Mythology wasn't all that hot.

On the AoE forums they say AoM is pretty good :\ I've never tried it though.

never will play… Im afraid I'll turn into those Olympic spacecraft Korean guys…

I still have the first edition of age of empires though… I used to play it 8 ways with my bros friends…

I have AOEII on my Phone, lol.

I think the Total War Series makes AOE's look like a joke. Used to play it all the time before TW: Rome come out and that was great, then TW: Medieval 2 came out and is amazing.

i used to play aoe2=II all thetime, never got the III though

it was the greatest game of its time

I sometimes play AOK and AOM but AOM is like 700mb…

AoEII FTW! I loved the chinese special archers xD

I'm quite a cavalry whore on AoEIII… the french curaisseurs. Love them. Nothing like steam rolling into infantry or charging a cannon battery.

i got AoM!! i love it, prolly cuz ive never played AoE2 or 3, i played the first one and then stopped cuz the bad graphics hurt my eyes:eek:

First time i plaid (online) i got killed in what 10 minutes?

That's why I play no rush :p

I haven't played it in a while though, starting to get boring…

Hahaha, i used to absolutely love Rise of Rome!

I play aoe 2 sometimes :)

Used to paly AEO as a kiddi, cause my brothers would paly and i thought it was cool to be like my brothers. However i moved onto starcraft and warcraft 2 and three…sooooo good. and diablo!! …best games ever blizzard rocks my socks.

BTW: starcraft 2 comes out sometime soon and DIABLO three comes out sometime soon.

I normally turtle tho or play co-op vs cpu

AOE is a really fun game, but I couldn't get very far in it without cheating a little to get all the main stuff needed to play. (I only have the first one released)

RoN is better imho :) But i still have AoE2 on my computer and the expansion :)

I'd always just build towers towards the enemy hehe. No units, just towers xD

aha memories :) havent played since I was 8 or 9. I still remember those flying ships and the wonders……and those codes to make those fast naked monkey men :p

no i don't play, not any more. even when i did, it was AOE1, no online :p.

I used to, it's probably one of my favorite games, back when I used to play it though I couldn't get online with it, if I had it now I probably would play online. I loved the first one so much, I got the third one like 2 years ago I think, it was alright, but I liked the first one better, since the first was like more pre-historic, the third was like Britain making colonies in America sorta time lol.

I used to play it, but now moved onto Command & Conquer series. xD
