my crazy antiban idea?...

well i had this idea for quite some time, but i always though it was dumb 'cus its like impossible? I'm sure I'll get a lot of flames, but try to refrain..this idea probably existed\exists? i dunno…
well here it is..
ps:its a little(a lot) on the imposable side…
(maybe in clanchat)
not like this is necessary or anything, but it would be kinda cool if srl had an anti ban pm chat…what i mean is…all scar users would like have ea other added…and then they will chat with one another as if they were there. the chat would be based on simple logic with a load of loops and booleans. it could have the usual things like "hi, how was your day, sup" all that stuff, and you could say upload "conversations"…stuff that doesn't rely on logic, but real human opinion, which would be real…every time srl members use pm systems, and talk, they could like save it, if they feel okay with it, and upload it…i dunno….i know its a little wacko, but what do u think?

interesting idea… I'm not really a scripter, but if this is possible… would be a great antiban

I read somewhere that this was in development, but nobody ever finished it because the project was just too huge, and you'd have to be able to tell who was online so you could add/talk to them. It was just a lot of work.

id imagine that be a huge project to do, but might be worth while? Maybe just make it a clan chat

That sounds awesome!!! hehe might take a while though..
havta say respect+ for your good thoughts!
I don't really think its a good idea you know, It could be risky if someone is jealous or summit and report you idk.

The big problem with having a huge open chat database open to all srl users is that jagex staff could just as easilly join and monitor to make there detection rates better..

Combine a database setup with pre-set conversations with a few php scripts that check who is currently online and chooses one that is currently not in a conversation and sends them a message. I guess I could (atleast) attempt this (after all, it is the weekend and I got no homework for a change). Also, with Prisoner's point, you could set it up so that you have to register an account on a site. Then you can add members to your chat list (they only get added if they agree) and you will only chat if one of them is on.

yes your all right in some sense, especially jagex joining…but, we could restrict this to junior members? if not, only trusted people?…besides i doubt jagex has time for this, and according to some law Clinton made, their not allowed to look on this website…same concept as cops, they cant do anything unless we did something first…and if they cant prove it, we didn't ;) :D …this would be kinda long, but if the srl team and a few other people, such as myself perhaps, could help out in some way, it might be possible?

Mixster, if you or someone else gets the php side of things done… I can work on a huge database of pre-set conversations with huge randomness etc. Script-side, its all fairly easy, just time consuming.
Negative aspects are, if jagex finds the php logs or whatever they know who is autoing. Its just a privacy concern for some people.

I've already got a few things thrown together that detects clan chat and compares it to a pre-set list (of 2 at the moment :duh:). I can make it so it loads the conversation into Scar then runs the 'ClanChatCheck' procedure to see whether or not it should respond (all it *should* need is a list of all the 'lines' to say in the conversation and an order to say them in to work) though I've only been testing with one player at the moment and need to make it so the players alternate, otherwise 1 person could say 5 lines then the other 3 etc. But otherwise coming together pretty well.
And chitin, I'll be sure to put a mention on the finished scripts ;)
Edit: About privacy, my new way of adapting it would be to have it based around clan chat with usernames only being stored for a minute or two. Also, the php would be enclosed with a POST security check so it can only be accessed via the script. Lastly, the scar script would of course also have SendText2 randomly, making it more human like, with responses just afterwards with '* blah' or '>< meant blah' etc. to make it as 'life-like' as possible.

Funny how ideas like this resurface so often.
Yes, has been thought of before.
Yes, has been made before.
No, has not been implemented on a mass level before.
The main problem is randomness. There's really no way to use set strings to create a random conversation. Eventually everything would be repeats, and Jagex would ban us all.
Only way I can think that it would survive would be to let the user put in their own conversations line by line, and share them with a select number of 'friends'. That way, everyone would have unique conversations, provided conversations don't get passed around too much.

Involving even a small level of randomness would generally be enough to not get banned, as runescape must get a good few thousand people (probably more, I'm terrible with user numbers at RS ><) with most having long conversations, it would be very dificult for them to pick up repeat conversations unless they happened in the same hour or something similiar.
Still then, involving skill levels or 'approximate' loads done, it would make the scripts so much more random and unrecognised as pre-set. Also, adding an 'add conversation' feature would make it much more random, though as it would have to work with exact (or maybe not with some scripting) text, so they would then have to be able to upload it to a database so that their friends can access the same text, meaning that people could put up dodgy conversations that could end up getting people banned or a database that's prone to crashing because of the size.
this would need hundreds of different types of conv.

I've been told jagex monitors all chat in the game so this would get us all banned if it wasnt random enough. all it would take is some ambitious employee throwing together a perl script to comb through the logs looking for any repeats of text strings. now maybe the randomness problem could be overcome if someone could figure out a way to pipe in fresh content from say an irc channel that stays busy. BUT lets not forget the guilt by association factor. if people in the same clan started getting banned it could cast suspicion on the other clan people as well and get jagex to monitor those accounts more closely.
I sware I'v heard of some script that will pm online friends. And like right before it logs out to sleep it will say stuff like brb.

that'd be interesting yes, but not really "anti ban" because then all autoers would be on one chat for jagex to ban.
i would also say, that if your wise and don't push your luck to much, you can sneak under jagexs' noses with out them noticing for years.

chitin, he means the same as me - this "anti ban" we'd all be talking on one clan chat being basically a giant autoing jagex screwing clan.

it would be really easy for the jagex admin to download our script and use it to track \ ban us, unless the server figured out who was online and communicated with them and then they could only ban on at a time

…
1.) Make the clan chat it uses random each day and have people enter a clan chat to use into a database.
2.) Random conversations, trust me we can all think of so many possible topics and I can make it as random as possible so there is almost no chance of ban.
3.) Doesn't even have to be conversations all the time, it could just post the persons latest achievements.
Clan chat is actually way easier to do because all you need is the / at the start of each typesend, and you don't have to add people to your friends list, just join a clan chat.

I already said that when I finish making my version, it would randomly join 1 other person or maybe a small group of people in clan chat. If Jagex did start checking for repeat conversations, then they would still have no luck as it would include spelling mistakes (though typesend2) with a second piece of text saying '>< meant blah' or '*blah' etc. and (maybe) current skill levels or what they're doing etc. Lastly, I do plan on making it so you may join a pre-set list of 'friends' or approved users rather than random people, so for the more cautious users, they don't have to worry about a Jagex account banning them, all run through a php page (which will also allow 'trusted' users to upload conversations, but that's still far off as I'm finishing the core script first).

My worry with this would be that if something messed up and one bot got caught, jagex would instantly have a list of other accounts to monitor
mixster
2008-01-19 11:45:56
they would only be able to ban a small group if the talker messed up, as each conversation would happen between 2 to however many people in the 1st persons clan chat. The biggest issue would be to ensure that the database is updated if one of the talking bots got disconnected, as it would end the whole conversation abruptly. Of course, throwing in a few live checks every now and then would stop that, but does pose problems.
On another note, I have the basic scripts going and it responds when I type out what the other bot would say (hard to get it going well when I only have the 1 pc). Next step is to add a couple of failsafes etc. to make the script more reliable.
