I doubt it, but FireFox can save links so if it isn't closed the way it's meant to be, it can restore itself…I think thats why most operating systems don't let you open files while you're shutting down.

I lost 2000 songs on itunes from a crappy external hard-drive.
Can't help you with the recovery thing. If I could I wouldn't be complaining about losing 2000 songs.

That was just some random speculation… I wonder how FireFox does save it though…I guess it marks a boolean 'Finished' when it is closing and if it is not finished, then it saves it, and reopens it the next time FireFox is open…

No no no. IE clearly eats Firefox for breakfast. Have you seen how fast it can download those viruses?
I wouldn't recommend putting stuff on external hard drives for non-backups. If it gets tipped, one of the reading heads will go into the disk and… *catastrophic meltdown noises* … it will ruin the disk. And if you wonder why it doesn't happen on laptops, the disk storage is different and laptops have accelerometers in them… Like if I jiggle my laptop, everything freezes for about 5 seconds until I stop.

Orly?
I wobble my external hd with my toes all the time. It's amazingly entertaining, actually… :p
Send Freddy a few pm's, maybe you can convince him that the few 'wasted' kb's are worth all the time lost every day from various problems.

I mean like it falls down… Those disks are spinning too fast to be affected by something less than an "earthquake".

The only thing to say is save often. I save right before I test something. It's just a quick hit of Ctrl + S. If you are thinking about the next line of code then hit it.

Usually when I script, I save when I take a short break (5-10 seconds). If I'm making a something-procedure I wonder for a few seconds how I'm gonna bend around some problem, and while I sit there I save it. Then I make a for loop, but I forgot some kind of array. I save again. It's really more my conscious saving scripts for me, but it works :D

Freddy can make it so that it saves your current work into a temp folder in SCAR every so often, I think.

Remember, ALWAYS SAVE UR STUFF.
Not that it'll help you now :(
ive lost so many lines to SCAR errors/shutdowns. Im now in the habit if i see the * next to the filename in the tab, I hit ctrl+s without even thinking about it.
I lost a whole script once, still havent rewritten it to this day.

I lost that Air Crafter I used in my app to some crash it got while it was compiling. I guess it was "Could not reference memory" because I had all ddtms/dtms loaded at the same time…Then I tried to save it BEFORE it actually shut down, so I wound up with half a ddtm T_T
