GameGuru started an Internet brush fire yesterday when it posted the rumor that Rare was working on a sequel to Perfect Dark, a rumor that Rare has since shrugged off, telling GamesIndustry they "prefer not to comment on rumors at this stage."

According to GameGuru, the game was meant to be a sequel to the N64 Perfect Dark, and would have a darker tone than Perfect Dark Zero, with different morality choices affecting the storyline of the game. Whatever Rare does, hopefully they'll also make Joanna more like the old Joanna and less like the teeny bopper of Perfect Dark Zero, who didn't look like she could masterfully order pizza, much less save the world.

ahh very nice news.

lol i hated perfect dark zero's storyline but loved the original because it was an unexpected twist.

gameplay was ok but nothing revolutionary or innovative.

i wish they made a sequel that didnt have to involve aliens though.

that way, it seems realistic and reasonable unlike most shooting games nowadays.

Well the Rare team isn't the same team that made the first Perfect Dark. Majority of the originals made their own company I'm sure you'll recognize the name; Free Radical. Which is why I've bought all the Time Splitters games. Of course they are under EA Games but their development group is Free Radical.

I wish the original team made the sequel to Perfect Dark if a sequel is made. Sadly this probably won't happen as Perfect Dark is owned by Rare… though I don't recall does EA own them too? If so EA could transfer who develops it. *crosses fingers*

I never played Perfect Dark Zero. I heard how different it was and didn't bother… I'll stick to Halo for now.
