Smart -> Public.

I am growing very tired of all those threads about Smart leakage.
We can't win. We CAN NOT keep smart in SRL Members forever.
It is like JageX vs Bots/RWT. They didn't do anything about it, now they had to take dractic measures.
We don't want people to sell Smart on other site's. In fact, I think is being handed out on Runesomething.org already?
I suggest we take a different approach.
In fact, I suggest to release Smart to the public. Without the java extra's, for now.

We must take action, very soon.

EDIT: Ben, either take the entire SmartGet/SetRate out (so they can access it) or give them automatic access to the Glider. We don't want another mess by people 'selling' their way of getting access to the gilder. :)

As long as its handed out on Runesomething its not our problem if they get errors..

It has got some cons and pros..

Lots of new people will join SRL when they found out multiple runescape's are possible.. It will probably cause spam.

Lots of people will post for getting SMART to work.. There are much SRL Members who can't get it to work.

As long as its leaked outside SRL its no problem.. (To me). Maybe stop being strict on the leaking rule..

On the contrary. While it is in SRL Members, it is still our problem.
We have to keep it private. We need to ban people that leak.
If we release smart to the public, it is no longer our problem, except for any legal issues, BenLand, Can you give that look? (aka does the current smart 1 already contain certain small snippets you wrote for reflection? If so, it would be better to take them out.)

Sure, people may post questions, I can't get it to work, etc. But doesn't that happen right now as well? I am sure that won't be a big problem. We have got alot of usefull posters here, too. ;) Tutorial writers, and just people that quickly reply and point people in the right direction.
As I see this forum grow and grow, I start to wonder if we might need even more moderators. ;)

i think since the RWT has stopped, there are less people want to auto,
i was just thinking of this the other day, we can now release more and better stuff, and its much less likely it will be abused.

so i think release it (open source of course ;))

If you jam the slider up high. Then theres no way someone could run 2. So it would be more like a runescape client :P

If Killerdou (who I assume you are refering to because apparantly he's been blabbing his big mouth everywhere) hadn't shown everyone on god's green earth how to use API calls to break into dlls (which is the normal way C++ compiles __stdcall methods), you wouldn't be able to access it at all. He's way up there on my list of people that don't know when to shut the hell up:duh: The worst part is that he was examining the plugin with the soul purpose of gaining access to "undocumented" features. Basicaly sitting there trying to "crack" it…

Afraid he might find something that we don't know? An old secret from your past? Did you encode picture of yourself naked into the plugin, and now the truth will come out? What's up with me asking these stupid questions?!? Is BenLand really Chuck Norris?

Find out in next version of Smart :D

Well, since i didn't expect anyone to know how to use api calls to jack my plugin, I didn't fully disable the refresh rate changing methods, I just didn't export them to Scar. Normally, there is no way to access them, but with API calls allowed, you can do anything you want to really… :duh:

Edit: Or I wrote down the answer to the ultimate question in there, that works too ;)
