In Visual Basic how can you tell it to wait, like a certain amount of time before doing something else?

For example the command in scar (wait(1000)) telling it to wait 1 sec.

How do you do that for Visual Basic or better question whats the code?

Okay then how do you make the progress bar fill up slowly by just pressing a button like okay button?
