Is there such thing? Out of curiosity, I grabbed the loader jar file from runescape but it opens in notepad as whack characters. So is there a program that can convert it back to plain text?

Correct me if im wrong:

jar files can be opened by winrar.. Inside you will find lots of classes..
You can decompile classes by a programm called "Jad.exe"..

They are obfuscated as far as I know… You can't really encrypt them, they are converted to Byte Code AFAIK..

You can't encrypt bytecode :rolleyes:

theres more then one way to skin a cat, another way to decompile is JODE

if you want a CV, in the runescape deobfuscator we use, JODE is used to decompile, not JAD

another example, jad produces this

Object object1;
object1 = new JPanel();
if(someCondition)
  object1 = new JTextArea();
this.add((Container) object1);

jode produces this

JComponent jcomponent;
jcomponent = new JPanel();
if(someCondition)
  jcomponent = new JTextArea();
this.add(jcomponent);

jad always puts every local variable to be of type Object, and inserts the nessecary casts where needed,
jode searches the class heirachy, and puts the local variable to be whatever the common superclass is.

another reason, jode is open sourced, jad is not

in the end, I'v presented my case, choose which you want :)

ZKM obfuscation, it's hard to read if you don't know what you are looking for.

Its jagex's own version of zkm (Zelix Klass Master if I can spell it), but same difference.
