I am going to learn java and make programs etc, what would be easy beginner programs to make?

Eg calculatr lol

www.google.com then type java tutorials, that is the best way to learn and this is like your 100th thread about this?

I have threads about same thing but different things if u get me, i was meaning what program i should try to make for a beginner not where to get tuts =/

As BenLand says, calculator is always the best beginner program.

No seriously, I don't usually do java, but, I would like to make a program with it. I have a book for it and it doesn't really teach me something. I should learn to :google: lol. It is hard to learn java. I would start with a calculator nevertheless.

It isnt really copying because your typing it in manually(:p) and he's giving it to because he wants u to take it.

And its a good way to learn. If u just do things with writeln/System.out.println("in java")(:p) in tutorials its really boring and doesnt show you how what you're learning can be used in with real applications

Theres no tuts how to make the basic program like just the square…!

Or well.. It doesn't take any brains to manually copy from video tuts.

E: Plus you could download what he made in the tuts.. Or you could dl the files atleast where I used to watch those tuts.

Im downloading NetBeans atm then im going to watch some tuts and fiddle things around to see what they do :D, like i did in scar :)

I'm getting some tutoring from BenLand once in a while, but in the meantime I'm reading the official Java Tutorials. It's boring (and a bit hard), but atleast I'm sure not to miss out on anything. I'll just have to endure those 1000 pages of Java…

You right click and see what the correct options are… If they don't make sence, then… Uh… try to compile it first.

NetBeans hasn't really been all too nice to me either. I've used both Textpad and JCreator, and I like them.

It works fine for me…

i wasted the last 10 hours of my life learning the basics of visual basics, and wanna take an break from it (can't find an intermediate level or abit higher level of tutorials)

and i WAS gonna learn C++, but some people in the thread says learn "if you wanna learn C++, learn java"

All the languages when you begin, you create "Hello World":p

how can i creat one when i have NO absoultly any idea how the heck the programing language work?
