SRL Archive - News and General

Recently, the site named runecheating.org was reported on these boards for having leaked some scripts (from here, of course). Those included Wizzup?'s Draynor Netter (I think it was), Ratz! by WT-Fakawi and 3 pages filled with other peoples work. All copied without permission. I asked the admins to remove them countless times, and finally today have they done the right thing: They deleted them all.

And if any of you wonder what happened to TalkGeek.org, then I can tell you that they also deleted all of the leaked scripts.

And if any of you know some sites leaking SRL-Scripts, just tell me :D I have some skills in plumming :p

Oh, and leaked? As in they're SRL members or something? Or were they more likely leeched? Because I don't think it's leaking if anyone can access them after 1 week.

No matter what the circumstances are, I call it leaking if you, for instance, download Ratz! Autofighter and upload it onto another site without the authors permission. In this case, it would be Fakawi's permission.

It's leaking, even if they copy the scripts from Free For All section.

Good work! Its great to see how our intellectual property is preserved in the right way. We are maybe cheaters, but Our Work is ours!

im glad the part of the site is down, but i also like to argue so here it goes.

if im correct ( if im not im going to sound like a ass ), all the scripts were free for all script, or junior member scripts. since these scripts were posted on these boards were free, as long as they dont claim the scripts as there own, its not leaking?

I think you're mixing up "leaking" with "plagiarism", Oliver.

Plagiarism would be, if I took Ratz! from here, and upload it on another site and say it's mine, or used it as mine in a Member-Application. Plagiarism is, in short, leaking with own credits.

Leaking is if I copied Ratz! to another site without permission. But not neccessarily claiming I made it.
