Here's a little story with rares:

I used to love this green mask I had on a different account. I was like, hey this is neat. Mind you, this was when you could buy them for under 300k. So I'm like hey, I can afford that! Well one day, I was short on money and I really wanted to buy something. So I sold the mask for 300k. Stupid right? Kind of… Well shortly after my desires fell on a party hat. Oh yes! It's so perty! 6M for a purple. Oh man, I've never made over 500k. How will I ever get 6M!? Then I was banned. I quit playing for a while. So I guess it was good I sold the mask, I would be so mad now if there was a banned account with a mask on it! And for the party hat. I couldnt even make 6M…

Now today, how on earth does one make 140M? The purple is ridiculously high. Is it the same thing as it was before? It looks so hard, but it's really easy? Now, I have like over 10M cash in my bank without trying. I could have that purple…


So with no more merchanting basically, how does one acquire hundreds of millions to buy those rares?

Maybe hacking/scamming?
There are loads of keyloggers on the web.

Back in the days scamming was a real eaze to do.

I mean, there were always the old "cut yews" "fish this" and do that stuff for money, but merchanting and auto was like instant bam!

I've thought of that too.. The good ol' RSC times, 2m for a red p hat, bots and macroed goods everywhere (like i saw one shemale at some server swapping some ores or bars into certs 24/7 in that server for like a month and didn't get banned…), not to forget the people spamming phishing sites or sites with keyloggers, oh and the scammers… Good times.

Is alching feasible?

Nats are 100gp more.

What would I alch?

Id say that u make alot of cash with:

70 fletching
about 100 nats
rune or d hatchet (axe)
and about 100 or more flax or bowstrings
and a fire staff or battlestaff..

how to do cash:

CUT yews in catherby
fletch to unstrung yew long
string them with bowstring,if u have flax wich is easy to get simply spin in the lumb castle, 2 clicks away from bank
once strung bank all and take out as note, go to al-kharid and start alching or use a auto alcher.. u should make about 50k,500k,5m,5b and so on with this

Edit: the keylogging bussnies wont work after 1st jan unless u just keylogg someone,login and drop the stuff.. like an asshole did to me, 5 times! stuff worth 5m :( i worked 10 fucking days!! dont laugh!!!! n00b :p

Edit2: oh and also cuz theres jotties scan and virus cheif and so on..

Yea, and cutting yews even at like 80+ wc is super slow.

Get a high level in a skill, then macro macro macro. That's the way forward. Cutting magic logs and fishing sharks whilst you sleep.

With the trade update, if it stays, I'm busted. I mean, it has good stats but still.

Or maybe someone found a code that respawns a item in their inventory, like the ::pickup XXXX XX code for moparscape.
When I type :: and text after it, it doesn't show anything up.
