As some of you may already know uncut onyx gems go for a minimum price of 3.6m at the GE. Since nobody buys these gems for that amount of money the price for onyx gems at the GE is not going up nor down. This means that it is going for a lower price somewhere else. Where might you find these different prices? The RS forums is where.

On the forums these gems are selling for about 3m to 3.1m each. What you want to do is buy as many of these gems as possible (of course in this case the more money you have the better, this is basically merchanting.) Once you have as many of these gems as you can afford you want to save them.

On January 1st you can sell these gems for the GE price of 3.6m as the unbalanced trade has this new thing called net worth. The net worth for an uncut onyx gem will be 3.6m (GE price). This means that you can make at least a 500k profit for every gem that you bought earlier.

The best part about this is that this doesn't only apply to onyx gems. The key to finding items that will sell for more during January is finding items that are way overpriced in the GE and people are only buying/selling on the forums for less. If you post any items that you know are only being sold on the forums then please post them and I might make a list of all the items that you should buy now and sell later.

sry if i pm'd you to read it…. but its kinda late now as its the next morning for me. I just was pretty excited about it because I thought of this idea as I was about to go to sleep so I had to post it really fast. Lets try to find some new items though and maybe we can get a good list going.

Thats actually a pretty good idea. But im new to RS2, formal rscer. I was wondering, is there anything less expensive that will have the same effect? I know everything will.. but what is a good object to choose..?

Well thats why I am asking everyone to try and look around and do some research. If we could find an item that is a lot cheaper then we could all easily get a few million gp even if you aren't so rich to start off.

Jagex said they will be updating some prices that they got wrong, etc. What if these Onyx gems are one of the prices they update and their price will drop to 3 mil as they see that is what everyone is selling them for anyway?

Well if that happens then who cares? Just sell the onyx gems back for the price that you paid for them… you rly have nothing to lose. Although I really don't think this will happen by Jan. 1st because the price has been like this for a little while now, and if they knew they could have simply changed this a while ago.

VERY nice idea, but i read somewhere that Fagsex is trying to correct prices that nobody will ever pay, so you may end up just having a surplus of items that you don't want. On the other hand it could work just like you said and make you a ton of cash.

Any ideas like this for FTP items?

…people that post like that are just making me angry. If you would please read the thread I am asking you guys for your help as well. I have given you the basic idea of what I am thinking, but I need your help to follow through (finding new items to help the people that don't have 3m) Please do not post asking for me to find new items. You can always do research yourself and post the items on this thread and then I will make a list of the items that we have researched and can get a decent profit from.
