i am doing a research project on australia and i need to know a current issue and some good details about it because i cant seem to find any good websites on it. Thanks in advance!

Well we're currently in a drought, we just got a new Prime Minister, our economy is booming cos of China. I'll post more once I think of them. ;)

Can you tell me more about the drought when did it start and what it has effected so far.

started 10 years ago or more, and is heavily affecting things such as our farms, our livestock, crops etc. many farmers are going out of business because they dont have enough water for their crops and livestock. because of this food prices are always rising, because the farmers have to charge more to the cmpanies so they can survive. basically the whoel country is under big water restrictions, which means we have to wash our cars on the grass, we're not allowed to water our gardens before 8 PM or something, along with others. there is always ads on the tv urging us to use less water.

thats just off the top of my head, the facts probably arent 100% accurate but thats the gist of it.
